  1. Starring Michael Fassbender and The Onion Knight. I just finished watching it and really enjoyed it. Super bonus points for pointing out a good Netflix movie, RD!
  2. Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 -- Fun film, worth watching and absolutely an 'in-the-theater' movie. Lots of eye-candy, great one-liners, some fun cameos and !5! post-credit scenes. I don't think it's quite as good as the first one (missing that spark of novelty, I guess) but still must-see MCU.
  3. Having just spent a few twitchy weeks cold-turkeying myself OFF Twitter and Facebook, my advice is... don't.
  4. Still no solid hints on when?
  5. Every year or so, I watch Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven. Last night was this year's viewing. A near perfect film. 10/10.
  6. I'd give you a free reroll if you danced the Robot.
  7. Mixed emotions, big time. I know this is entirely my fault, but I bought a pile of 7e stuff and got almost no play time in so $$++. However, perceived rules-bloat was one of the big obstructions to getting games in more often -- and it looks like the next edition will really help out with that. Can't decide if I should be slagging GW, or praising them to the heavens..
  8. I just finished Leviathan Wakes, by James Corey. I really enjoyed it, and started the next book in 'The Expanse' series: Caliban's War. I haven't watched any of the TV show yet, the books are so good that I want to experience the story that way -- as opposed to GoT where I watch the show but can't imagine ever reading the books ;-)
  9. I really enjoyed this show too, though I was a bit put out regarding
  10. Looks cool, but I'm not crazy about Tony Stark pulling Spidey's strings. Can't swing a dead cat in the MCU without beaning him
  11. Skyrim is a contender for my favorite game of all time. I have no interest in encouraging Bethesda to waste their talents tilling fields that Blizzard has already strip-mined. Keep the Elder Scrolls series single-player thankyouverymuch.
  12. Kong: Skull Island. A fun but essentially mindless pulp adventure. It's like watching a Hollow-Earth roleplaying game scenario. If you can turn off your brain, 7/10. If not... a lot less than that.

    Snow?

I saw snowflakes the size of half-dollars on my drive this morning. It's March.
  14. 10 Cloverfield Lane (on Amazon Prime Movies right now) I enjoyed it, didn't know much about it going in and that was absolutely for the best. 8/10

    Update

Best wishes to your brother, and your family RD.
  16. Moana - 9/10. With my kids all grown up, I thought I was past the whole Disney thing. Turns out they can still make good movies.
  17. FWIW, I 'like' the new look. Good job, admins!
  18. "Sound of Silence" is about suicide? Since when?
  19. Bourbon Sidecar made with lemons from a coworker's lemon tree. 3/5, a Sidecar really needs the cognac.
  20. Star Wars The Clone Wars animated series, seasons 1 - 6 This is a conditional mini-review: If you start with season 3 and skip every episode with either Padme or Jar Jar. It's an excellent show. The more older seasons, Padme (insufferably dull) and Jar Jar (insufferably insufferable) you add, the worse it gets. A few of the arcs (Mortis; Dathomir/Ventress/Brothers; S05 Mando/Deathwatch; Ahsoka's S05 arc; Fives S06 opening arc) are REALLY good.
