  1. So, how was 'A Fish Named Wakanda'? I can't go see it until sunday or next week at the earliest.
  2. Get some in-the-shell pistachios while you're at it, to leave a sluglike trail of slime and eggs hatching in its' wake.
  3. Yeah, they put one at the beginning of the credits and MOST of the people left, but you know that like a scorpion's tail there will be one more stinger at the end.
  4. Gee, if only you had a detailed list of items a gamer would want.... Well, stranger things have happened.
  5. Careful, I found three more rhinos to possibly convert as trade-bait (for more Blood Angel Baal Predators to make even more Repressors, of course). Infinitely recursive loops are fun!
  6. I have some Tau themed objective markers of two Earth Caste repairing a drone, acrashed Battlesuit and an Ethereal hiding in the middle of a pile of Tau, Kroot and etc. corpses. Plus all those half-done themed terrain projects for an eventual table competition.
  7. Trying to say at least partially relevant, posting-wise. Such as, should I try and convert a 5th Repressor for my Sisters of Battle, or start prepping Orkzsesez hoping their codex comes out in time for OFCC?
  8. I've had a lot of practice with paint necromancy, but am stuck north of Seattle, are you willing to fill a small flat rate box if I caver the shipping?
  9. Can I be anti-social, but just with more people instead. That should count too, right?
  10. Kind of the same rationale I had bringing Mega Armored Nobz a few years ago, it plays faster since I know I tend to dither be deliberative about my actions on my turn.
  11. I think it would be cool if there were a bonus for COMPLETLY filling out a force org chart, be it Vanguard, Brigade, Outrider, or whatever. Double Bonus if across all four armies of a team there is at least one of each detachment represented, even if minimum. (Who gets 'forced' to take the auxiliary detachment? Captains take the bullet?) Might put too much emphasis on Guard, though since they can cheaply and effectively fill out force org slots, though....
  12. I get my three kids off the bus a little before 4, and Monday or Tuesday seems to be the best option (if I can get my wife to agree to it, that is.) for my schedule. [whipped.gif goes here]
  13. PM me and we can schedule a game or three at PFC, or we can coordinate here and raise the post count. I've been meaning to get a regular weekly game time in (maybe Sunday afternoons?) for a while now.
  14. Dude, you can still take as many Knights as you want.... you'll just be in the position of building an army with negative Command Points. Imagine how happy all your opponents would be to get a few more command points just for playing you.... EDIT: I'm not helping matters, am I?
  15. I've been considering doing the two Imagifers and two Dialogus instead of the one Imagifer and four Dialogus since by the time I get to using up all my Dialogus-Martyrs to catch bullets there aren't any Dominions left to make shoot twice. I just wish there was an upgrade to give an Imagifer so she could ride with Dominions and still allow them their Vanguard9Scout) move forward at the beginning of the game. Also, wouldn't it be better to put the (relic) Blade of Admonition on the Seraphim superior? More likely to get in combat than a footslogging Canoness, and quite the surprise at how choppy she would be.
  16. I had tiny cups of mead (regular, raspberry and huckleberry) for objectives during the Friday tournament last year when I played mechanized Sisters and still won half my games over the course of the weekend. The year before that I was trying to decide whether to play an all-Inquisition army (Arcoflagellants, before they were cool, in a Land Raider Crusader) or an Ork army with six units of 20-30 Grots each with a 1/3 chance of entering play by Deep Strike via Tellyportas. OFCC is almost always fun (even facing that Armored Company which blew me off the table in two and a half turns and I could wander and watch other people's games for a change.) and the camaraderie in the evenings playing other games is what I really look forward to every year. I'd say 2500 should have another restriction like you get one Brigade detachment to fill out, and anything else must be Auxilliary (-1 CP each) detachments if we were to go that route. However, I do enjoy getting in more games and going to sub-2000 points is great since OFCC people wouldn't only bring the most points efficient units automatically.
  17. The 12 CP are nice as well. Lets you shut down psykers more often and turn a character dying into more Melta shots. Since I don't run Celestine, my version of this list would probably pile on more Seraphim to add to maneuverability through deepstriking.
  18. Count me in as well, it you're still looking. Skkipper, I know you're close to where I live so we can carpool down & back since I like driving.
  19. Although I was able to join a team at the last minute as a replacement (Yay for having a Sisters army) I would also like to see the "Mercenaries" (people without a team) allowed in since I would have been one of them if not for fate. Though this year I'll see if I can round up a group from my local game store. Although that would mean cutting down on the chaos unexpected life events which keep me from having a regular game night. It'll be nice to get in all the games in 8th Edition, though.
  20. More fiddling around with the list, per pretre's suggestions. Looks like I might be converting a lot more Heavy Bolters and figuring out more Dialogus models in the future. Warrior Woman from Schaeffer's Last Chancers with a communication backpack outghta work, or giving the few Repentia I have Dialogus Staffs instead of eviscerators might work out as well. Sororitas Brigade (+9 CP) HQ Canoness (Warlord) Flamey McBookburnista with Combi Flamer, Bolt Pistol and Blade of Admonition - 60 HQ Canoness Lea Roy - 45 HQ Canoness Jenn Kynz - 45 ELITE - Dialogous Snafu'na Thurman - 15 ELITE - Dialogous Tarfu'zie N'thabanshees - 15 ELITE - Dialogous Fubar'ita Moreno - 15 ELITE - Dialogous Bohica Jones - 15 ELITE - Imagifer Wavetheia Banner - 40 TROOP 5 BSS with 3 Storm Bolters (incl. I think the very underused Act of Faith 'The Passion' could be used to move a character into close combat and pull an opponent out of position to meet a hail of bolter shells, or possibly off of an objective. Assuming I have time to get to any gaming events, that is.
  21. Or Wolf of the Wolf-Wolf... Wolf, Wolf.
  22. I've almost always played Sisters as a Mechanized force so my thoughtful tactical deliberations (i.e. dithering) doesn't slow down the game as much. That's why I liked the old school Immolator Spam back when Immolators had firing ports. My idea is to use the "Faith Pinatas" to power further Dominion Melta destruction. Having Heavy Bolter Retributors seems kind of at cross purposes with that, though I suppose that's what an Imagifer lurking nearby is for. So how well does a fire base of Retributors fare these days? Do the Dominions do a good enough job of cracking things open for them to shoot, in your opinion?
  23. Combine to a Brigade, eh? 3 HQs (I think, I'm at work without my books, so this is definitely "Thought Experiment" territory) of Canonesses... Recycle one Canoness into three Dialogus for the Elites coverage and Faith Pinata duty... Six Troops as above... Fold in the Dominions and their tanks... Two Exorcists as above, recycle the unneeded Vanguard Canoness into a Bolter-only Retributor squad... Hmm... Need to sit down and flip between books tonight to see if it'll work.
  24. I've put together a list (and converting the fifteen Storm Bolter armed Sisters)for play in the new year. It centers around the stratagem 'Martyrdom' from Chapter Approved which allows an act of faith to go off on a 2+ every time a character is slain and then removed from play (i.e. no coming back with Celestine allowed) Sororitas Battallion #1 - 774 points HQ Canoness (Warlord) with Combi Flamer, Bolt pistol and Blade of Admonition HQ Canoness 'Lee Roi'Jenkins#1' TROOP 5 BSS with 3 Storm Bolters (incl. The Dominions Vanguard scout as a pre-game move while Lee Roi'Jenkins #1 runs as far forward as she can to make herself a tempting target and unleash even more Dominion melta shots during the opponents turn due to her Martyrdom Lee Roi'Jenkins #2 and #3 hide behind tanks to take pot shots with their Storm Bolters before going off to die gloriously for the cause or to tie up a unit of conscripts, or whatever.
  25. I actually posted this in the November thread on December 1st, and just moved it here for December, but I wanted to post the tank I'm planning to paint before WarPorch at Fluger's on December 9th. A kitbashed Repressor: ...and since the proof of concept worked, why make just one when you could build three more at triple the price? So far I've got 'em primed and might actually get a chance to take a brush to them tonight, if the stars align.
