  1. You never know. Your list might shine where mine absolutely sinks.
  2. Oh man. That Orc bike list is brutal. I'll be there with admech if someone wants to play.
  3. I believe ya, That's awesome. I still think I'll plunk Mr Useless Vindicare in an Oblit Cannon and keep my warlord on a squad of 3 plasma guns, but that's a rad thing to know. Rerolling "Get's Hot" / Scatter -8 BS / Ignores Cover because of 'Spy Mask'... Yeah, that's pretty cool.
  4. Hey AgentP, I've got a few games in with my Skitarri now. The list I've been running is pretty silly, but it's had some success. My list- Inquisitor Karamazov Assassin Execution Force (all 4 assassins in formation) Skitarri Maniple of 1- Squad of 3 Dunecrawlers all with Cognis Manipulators, 2 with Nuetron Lasers and 1 with the Icarus Array 3- 6 man Squads of Rangers each with 2 of the special weapons -IE 1 squad has the Plasma Cavaliers, 1 has Arc Rifles, etc. All have Omnispecs I gave my warlord the Phosphenix relic and another dude the Skull of Elder Nikola Oh and I have an Aegis Line with Quad Gun. Things I'm going to do Swap the Aegis and Karamozov for the Plasma Oblit. I'm only going to put an Assassin in it tho. Preferred Enemy doesn't negate Gets Hot on vehicles as far as I understand (or does it?), and IT KICKS ASS ON PLASMA CAVALIERS. -Things I've learned from playing. Transuranic Arquebus- regardless of rules and whatnot, and being cool models, kinda suck. I dunno, they just don't get their points back, and really don't do any good. Arc Rifles are good, duh. 2 Icarus Arrays or 1 and a Quad gun is overkill on Skyfire. 1 Array is enough. Scout your Skits into firing range turn one. Get them the hell away turn 2. Your troops drop like flies, expect it. The WS doctrinas don't change the game much. Dragoons are horrible models, very fragile, frustrating and dollar expensive, and very worth their points in the game. They will just about always get at least their points back often more than that.
  5. I love everything about the Kastelans. I love the fluff too. I need to muddle over the rules a bit more, tho. They seem kinda pricey, points wise. The GW bundle of 10 of them cracks me up. 2900 points worth of robots.
  6. So... Here is how I see it. If you play this game with friends, or cool players who establish narratives and aren't just playing to win and feel they need to out snake each other or whatever- the new releases are fine. I like the admech- I'm actually pretty well painted to having a real army of them. Eldar came out- and they look dumb and broke and I don't care- cause I don't play people who run them - cause they are too winning for fun. Fresh rules are awesome if you relax and realize it's a fun game and no big deal if you don't know everything up and down. Cool new models are cool, but I don't need to know their rules to enjoy this game. If you are playing tournaments and everyone has elevendy knights or wraithkights or whatever- well, yeah... You shouldn't be upset, cause this stuff is super serious for sure.
  7. The Culuxes is probably the best. If they are fielding psychers it totally screws with them- and if they aren't he still turns anyone fighting him into bs/ws 1 so he's a prick to kill.
  8. Jeremy, get the Eversore and the Culuxes. The other two are generally meh- with the Vindicare being VERY meh. None of them are outstanding in a tank battle- they are assassins! They kill troops and characters. The Vindicare is by and far the least fun and least fulfilling
  9. I'll be there with the beginning musings of my stupid Ofcc team list
  10. I guess I'm not interested in debating it. I just don't think this new kit and these new rules are worth it to me. I like knights, I own a Paladin, Acheron and Castigator- playing them all at the same time isn't fun, it's game killing. I see no need to add another knight to my pile of mostly unplayed models. Also GW could try a little harder and give us an actual new knight, rather than a few more gun options and face masks to a kit we already have.
  11. Do you get my point, tho?
  12. Honestly- why do they even have names? They are all the same knight except with differing and interchangeable weapons loadouts. You don't call a space marine with a melta something other than a space marine- he just costs more points than a bolter marine. I enjoy the fluff, I get that... But these 'new knights' are lame. The OG knight codex mentions the Crusader, Castellan, and Lancer. We've seen the Lancer, let's see the other chassis. I'm not grumpy about these new guys, I just don't feel the need to get another knight just so I can have another knight but with a gun on his back.
  13. They have a lot of options. Both Coteaz and Karamazov are really quite good. You can build out any non-named inquisitor with whatever relics and whatnot you'd like- and you can basically build their own 'elite warband' which can be comprised of essentially a number of varied self modeled troops, psychers, priests, monkeys, servitors, etc. Narrative-wise I think it's great. The warband, is... I dunno, kinda meh. If you have an idea in mind for it- and like making your own models I could see it being amazing, but I never found them to be too potent. I personally love Karamazov- his orbital bombardment is so much fun- and he's no slouch. Coteaz is awesome for the points as well. Basically the inquisitors are an awesome way of building your own little micro custom army. If you wanted 6 guys in power armor with hot shot las-guns with a ministorum priest, and a monkey weapon maker riding around in rhino with a badass inquisitor, you could build it. If you wanted to switch the troops to flack armor and bolters and add a psycher, you could do that.
  14. Lol, also that the new models actually look rather massive and that really isn't something the assassins benefit from when played in 40k. Imagine trying to tuck that 8 inch tall Callidus behind cover.
  15. Truth. It's so temping, but I have so much going on these days... And I already have all the old metal models
  16. I literally bumped my Dragoon on the table yesterday and he broke. I really wanna run those guys, but the kit is such crap.
  17. I was thinking a bunch about them last night, too... Things that started to pop out for me were 2 fold- 1 The Maniple gives your units Scout and Crusader. Which the Sicarians NEED- and second the Infiltrators have stealth and Infiltrate- with infiltrate being the more imperative skill. I don't think I'd give the ruststalkers are run. Sure they bring the anti-2+ armror, and seem superior in CC, but at least with the infiltrators you get that bubble of radiation thing- and you can actually deploy them close to where they should be. Honestly with something like this, getting them locked in combat is sometimes just as good as having them 86 a squad. All too often I've driven a blob of Death Company into my opponents ranks and as soon as they mop up the last enemy they get shot to half strength. I feel like sometimes it's just as well to dive your opponents Centurians or what have you- and hold them up for a few turns. If you win the combat, great, if not, at least they messed up your opponents tactics. Infiltrators would be a great anti-artillery unit.
  18. Hmmmm... Battlescribe is kinda wonky... Played around with it anyway. Gave a fort a Comms relay since it's the same thing as Karlaen for 20 points - switched the forts around and actually put the Raven in. I always have a narative for my lists in my brain before I write them...
