  1. $110!? Are you sure that was the standard book and not the limited number, gilt-edged, collector’s edition? Mythicos is showing a $65.00 MSRP for the core rulebook, $199.00 MSRP for the Indomitus box, and $40.00 MSRP for the Chapter Approved books... all of which lines up with the prices Fæit212 “leaked” a week or so back. I’m not saying you’re lying or anything, I’m just thinking you made a mistake...
  2. Kick-Off Event! Some players are Stunned... Yeah, by some we mean NINE of the eleven players I have on the pitch... and two of his.
  3. Transportable, modular, urban battlefield...? https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/studiolevel/1345357294?ref=29jcrm&token=0d59cf28
  4. 100 versus 125? I doubt too many people would care...
  5. Atomic Mass Games just posted a really cryptic message across their various social media accounts. I wonder what it could mean...?
  6. These should also work for T9A shouldn't they?
  7. Here's where I got them. It probably wouldn't be too hard to modify these trays to accommodate an 20 x 80 mm base. Just clip and/or file down these two internal dividers and you'll end up with a slot that's 20 x 85-ish in size... If you're handy with an STL editor, you could probably re-sculpt it before printing and make it even cleaner.
  8. I mean, I’ve got at least a thousand dollars of GW product within arms reach of me as I type this... But, I’m never going to let something as simple as accuracy stand in the way of making a good joke.
  9. Mazel tov! The world always needs another Ian.
  10. Oh, I also have decided that in most of my armies that I ever build for Oathmark, I will use a standard bearer of some sort in the center point of the front rank instead of a leader type model. Oathmark bases a lot of measurements off a unit’s “Officer,” ties certain moral values to the presence or lack of an “Officer,” and a few other things. The “Officer” must always occupy the middle position of the front rank... But, frankly, I just think it looks nicer to have a guy with a flag in that spot. Plus it’s easier to identify from table top distances where the flag is than where the guy with the slightly different hat is... and if the “Officer” is removed for some reason, it’s easy to see that the unit is missing it’s flag.
  11. Well, WHFB-style Dark Elves are easily represented by using the Elf units and a fair selection of the neutral monsters. You could also add units from the Human or Goblin lists to represent enslaved prisoners forced to fight on behalf of their masters. I strongly suspect that the game was designed for 20 x 20 mm square bases, but redesigned late in its development to use 25 x 25 mm square bases because that what Games Workshop, Mantic, and Fireforge were using. I’ve got an STL for a five by two movement tray that holds 20 x 20 mm bases perfectly and gives them a 125 mm frontage:
  12. Are you sure you have enough flamers and melta weapons? There’s got to be a way to duct tape a flamer onto a Rhino, right?
  13. It’s supposed to be generic!
  14. You could also post your Crusade’s Order of Battle here on the forum (like Lyraeus and I have done) to solicit feedback... If everyone respond’s with “Jeezus, WTF!!!” then you might want to dial things back.
  15. Trencher warfare had a profound affect on European civilization...
  16. I was under the impression that all eight of the secondary weapons were actually lumped together into one weapon profile. Obviously, I haven't seen the full datasheet for this...
  17. The Hammerfall has secondary weapons (flamers or bolters) on all four facings and it's missile turret is capable of 360° rotation. A return of fire arc rules (which I do miss) wouldn't actually do anything to affect it.
  18. Meh, the Deathstorm Drop Pod has been doing exactly this since Second Edition.
  19. Bolter Discipline is a horrible, terrible, no-good, very bad rule... and I say this as someone with an Imperial Fists army.
  20. It’s difficult being men of superior breeding, higher intellect, and with a more refined sense of art and aesthetic... But, it is a burden with both bear with silent, noble stoicism. One day, perhaps, the rest of these poor benighted fools will realize the error of their ways...
  21. A nerd with social anxiety? How novel. 😉 This is why I’ve repeatedly been saying that if Ordo decides to incorporate Crusade format gameplay into our regular game night pick-up game play, we should all agree to it beforehand. Maybe take a poll or something. It would also be very simple to “house rule” the whole system to use Matched Play Points instead of Power Level. Replace all references to PL in the rules with Points at a 1:20 ratio, boom.
  22. Well, they’re rumored to be going up... We don’t know for certain yet. In any case, I think a combination of Combat Patrol (25 PL or 500 Points) games being fully supported with bespoke missions and objectives, combined with Crusade format encouraging something like a “Escalation League meets Narrative Campaign” playstyle, and the existence of Start Collecting boxes, this might be the best time for some to jump into WH40k. Plus, you don’t have to fret much about learning the rules since they’ll be new for all of us.
  23. B-b-but, @Brother Glacius...! That would require human interaction and socializing! You are a madman! A madman!
  24. Crusade asks you to build a 50 PL Order of Battle, which is going to be roughly 1,000 Points for most factions, but you don’t have to play missions with the full roster. Combat Patrol missions, for example, only use 25 PL’s worth of units drawn from your Order of Battle. So you could take the same collection of models, say a five-man Intercessor Squad, and list them on your Order of Battle twice just giving them different names and tracking their XP separately. You’ll just never be able to use both in the same game... at least, not until you buy some more toy soldiers! Incidentally, the various Start Collecting boxes all tend to average around 20 Power Level...
