Gorgosaurusrex
Do people even still buy that rag? I stopped getting it when it became a catalog with brief hobby and gameplay sections. Come to think of it, I used to get it for the tactics and army list articles... which stopped when Warhammer blogs and forums exploded in popularity. pretre
At least post what the news is... http://natfka.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/the-monthly-white-dwarf-magazine-is-dead.htmlAllegedly, it will be replaced by a weekly magazine called "White Dwarf Visions" and a monthly one called "Warhammer Visions". JamesBeadle
I stopped buying it as well for the same reasons. Maybe this new incarnation will be more friendly to the hobbiest.
Chappy
I use it for the paint splatter sections. Helps me become a better painter.
sergentzimm
So the real question is, how much are the new 'versions' going to cost? My guess is the weekly ones will be $2.99 and the monthly one will be $5.99. Gw adding 'value' and money in the same swath.

I cannot find the post, but there is a planned cost increase for the monthly mag and the weekly was $5 I think.
MexicanNinja
Meh, white dwarf magazines have been dead to me since around 2008ish. No loss to me. I get more info from the interwebs than from that paper-weight. The battle reports went to poop many many moons ago, the hobby section...wait, there isn't one any longer, and the updates for upcoming models isn't neccessary any longer. dashneeb
I stopped reading White Dwarf forever ago. Hell, even when I got it for free I didn't read it that much. I feel it's pretty much just a big advertisement, which it should be. However, it's not like you get tons of in-depth strategy articles, and while the pretty pictures of minis and what not are nice, I hardly feel a need to buy them. White Dwarf is the thing that sells the least of all GW sales, although I really liked their subscription tokens thing. That was awesome. Lord Hanaur
probably going digital as all.
fluger
I had a white dwarf subscription back when you got minis for subscribing. One year at $50 got you a $12.50 box, and a two year at $100 got you a $25 box (which was 10 plastic dudesmen).
pretre
probably going digital as all. Unlikely. None of the rumors have indicated that and WD was already digital for years.
dalmer
My family and I love White Dwarf! Sounds like the new magazine will be good, too so that's positive news.
tombking
I had a white dwarf subscription back when you got minis for subscribing. One year at $50 got you a $12.50 box, and a two year at $100 got you a $25 box (which was 10 plastic dudesmen). Heck I remember if you subscribed at the right time you would get %100 of the subscription in boxes... Then they quit doing that and oddly I quit subscribing. I do always like the pics. But it has been good/bad/inbetween in the long run it has had. I used to pick it up when it was a general gaming magazine. Really it was never all that good after they quit running Thrud the Barbarian. :)
jollyork
I don't see any changes to my digital WD subscription this morning. And I see no new releases for White Dwarf, Warhammer, or Games Workshop in the Apple Store. *twiddles thumbs accusingly*
Guest Mr. Bigglesworth
Ib liked the new direction. I just wonder what the new style will be. Will this now be a new form for dataslates and more fluff like the old inferno mags?
