Murphy'sLawyer
I just realized my O&G will be handing out the points. Lots of cheap characters. Then again you will have he get through lots of cheap characters.

TJP
Hello, fully-tooled Daemon Prince, dragon-riding Chaos Lord, BSB riding the warshrine... Oh yes. Nothing says you have to bring ONLY characters, though. If I was plying an army with cannons or bolt-throwers, I'd be bringing them all...

Brother Glacius
I made up a quick list consisting of a vamp lord on zombie dragon, and a tomb king on a war sphinx. And 5 direwolves. Am I gonna get gut punched?

Am I gonna get gut punched? I'll high-five you if I make it this Sunday! As for how effective it is, who knows. If the vamp lord can summon zombies to heal himself and get in teh way so he can't get ganged up on, it may go pretty well.
Drak
@broG- ditch the dogs and take a spirt host to punish an enemy character who forgets to bring a magic weapon :)

Murphy'sLawyer
Wait, there are no objectives to keep mounted players from just fly in out of charge arc and breath weapon. Rinse repeat. In essence two mounted characters can fly around and avoid combat the whole game and pick off lonely characters for cheap points. Hmmm..... :-/
MexicanNinja
You can only flame once and why wouldn't you have a character with 2+ wards agaisnt flame attacks? Also, I want to take this time to apologize to all of you in advance. I am not going to proxy 5 Ogre characters (that will just get out of control for me and my opponents). This means I will be bringing dark elves. Yup, I'm a cheater and douche waffle! However, the dark elves are coming out for hero hammer. Prepare for the cold one onslaught!
Drak
you only get breath weapon once a game. now if he was fielding a TG then he could fly around screaming at things and melting face...
MexicanNinja
you only get breath weapon once a game. now if he was fielding a TG then he could fly around screaming at things and melting face... Why take one? Take two and make one a mount for a ghoul king with the scream sword!
Drak
it would be a ghoul king with aura. and no rerolls for a scream. just straight dice it. and the scream sword with the +1 wound power would be tough for even a ld 10 to take on. Yeah, I edited my post right after I hit the post button. I realized it wasn't a LD test, after I made the post.
Drak
it would cost me 675 for the first tooled out screaming lord. plenty of room for other delightfully mean choices with that.
valourunbound
Nope, you'll just get hit with a purple sun and pit of shades and call it a wrap on turn 3. I'm pretty sure they use the highest I on the model. So 7 or 8 for the vampire and 4 or so for the tomb king.
MexicanNinja
I'm pretty sure they use the highest I on the model. So 7 or 8 for the vampire and 4 or so for the tomb king. I'll look at the FAQ tonight and get back to you.
valourunbound
I know it's true for stegadons without a priest, but it might be randomized if there is a character. Or maybe each part of the model takes a hit.
MexicanNinja
I'm pretty sure they use the highest I on the model. So 7 or 8 for the vampire and 4 or so for the tomb king. If the unit is required to take a characteristic test then the highest value is used. An example of this would be the Net of Amyntok. If every model is required to take a characteristic test then each model uses it own value. Two examples of this would be Pit of Shades and Dwellers below. So no, the dragon doesn't use the vampires Initiative value for the pit of shades specific example.
Don't Panic
pit is a template same as purple sun. both take it on their own I. dwellers says every model in a unit. monsters and riders are individual models, but are within the same unit. so they both are affected, individually tested for their own characteristic. Don't Panic
It does say as a single model they are a single target... Guess that means opposite what I was thinking for dwellers. Since its not a template you would use the highest of the two but both would go down... Weird.
rudra34
The Vamp and the dragon are a single model, each model only tests for pit or purple sun once at the highest initiative available.
