  1. I will be there tonight with some Slaanesh WOC. I can do 2800 or 3k. See you guys a little after 4.
  2. Id like to get some 2800 point games in to feel out my WoC army. I know I need to finalize my list this month so I just need to play more, hopefully I can get 2 in today by starting at 4pm. Anyone interested?
  3. I like ambush as well. I would take a single unit of 5 and be happy with them coming in on a flank or rear to threaten a bunker or WMs. Many armies have points just sitting in their backfield that flesh hounds are designed to mop up. Any type of BS shooters, WM, Mage bunkers all would be disrupted by 5 flesh hounds, if not beaten with a flubbed fear test or break test. I think ambush is totally worth the points, but I do think its something you dont want to over invest in, a single unit should be fine in ambush while any others could be deployed on hard flanks.
  4. Looks extremely capable. I think you are downplaying the power of the list. Yes, no lord, but dwarf thanes might as well be lords in other armies. A completely stubborn center of LBs and Hammerers is going to bust face considering the most reliable 3WM and a very strong BS shooting unit. This will give your opponent no choice but to run straight into a wall of stubborn elite infantry that will grind down most over the course of a few turns. Gyrocopters are under-costed for their capabilities and role in the army. Dont get me wrong I really like the army, I think its rock solid, its just not a "middle of the road" army at all. I understand youre torn between a re-model on your house and being able to paint a new army, I thought the slayer army looked brilliant and would bring a fun element to the game along with NEW challenges when facing a dwarf army. I'd have fun playing against both lists, I just know that the above "traditional" army would be difficult for any of my OFCC armies to handle and id have to play a solid tactical game and roll some decent dice even to threaten you with a loss.
  5. Dark riders have access to a 4+ armor save while still retaining fast cav rules, they are M9, Repeater xbows, ASF, and Murderous prowess, pretty much perfect fast cav and all in the CORE section. Units of 10 are an investment point wise but when they are used correctly they cant be beat when compared to what else is available in that role. Glade riders Ambush now which is weird and unpredictable. Reavers dont have the armor and bows arent as good as XBOWs. The only upside to these guys is the ability to run them 2 wide and still get all the spear attacks on a charge (units of 5 or 6) and thats still MEH compared to rerolling 1s to wound.
  6. So true on Dark Riders, they are the best fast cav in the game and as a core choice... yikes.
  7. Ive had moderate success with hordes of Black orcs mainly due to the attention they draw from opponents; they die in droves and you just have to learn to deal with it. The good thing about all the attention they draw is that its pulled from other threats and elements of the army that can overcome their loss. BUT, If they happen to get into combat fully intact they can brutalize anything in the game, just pick the right weaponry before the fight and smash. Forgetting to reform either for keeping ranks, or gettting wider (to bust more faces) is the main problem with large blocks like this, after every combat you really need to consider the situation and how best to form ranks. (remembering all rules for reforming during combat of course, but there are many options still) Also with ITP they can really deploy anywhere on the battlefield and when coupled with giants can be a serious flanking force which can deploy outside of the very important LD bubble of the O&G army. I think Black orcs are horribly underrated by most of the WH community in favor of Frenzied orcs, which I would NEVER take. Having to frenzy test and roll for animosity, you have two chances to lose control of what your unit is going to do for the turn, I just cannot deal with that in a game that requires so much positioning. I like Orc Big Uns, NG's Wolf riders. Black orcs, orc chariots, trolls, smaller boar boyz units. Giants, Rock Lobbas, doom divers. Main hitters being Big Uns, Trolls, BOs. The 60 NGblock can be a handful as well at times. I seem to have moderate control of what IM doing on the battlefield with these choices. The beauty of the O&G army, so many options....
  8. Whos the best? I like the mobility and armor of the HE. They also have the best monsters out of the bunch, both phoenix, ASF griffons, dragons are all awesome. HIgh magic is also incredibly good and is a perfect lore for what the army does. Core heavy cavalry that fight in 3 ranks couldnt be a better choice coupled with fast cav and archers. They get my vote. PS found a game today, sorry for the quick edit.

  10. Just a hypothetical assumption and we all know what assuming does. Sorry man..... consider it a challenge.
  11. The OFCC is a competitive environment... They just dont want to see internet cookie cutter lists lining their tournament with WAAC ass players that enjoy winning more than they enjoy the hobby, the world, and the friendships that come with playing the game. Some people on this forum just dont get it and never will. Im sure the entire time you are losing at the OFCC you will be making excuses as to why, and it will be this "friendly" term, which is bull[big bad swear word]. Maybe the only way you CAN win is to bring the most broken list a book can give you and everything else is an excuse. Talk about the people I dont want to spend a weekend playing Warhammer with. This is not only directed at you MN, but everyone who cant seem to understand the philosophy. Sportsmanship is the most important aspect of gaming to the OFCC community and much of that comes with the army you CHOOSE to bring to the table. A good sport doesnt go on the internet and ask everyone else to write a list for them. They spend time and discover what they truly like about an army and make it work even if it includes sub optimal choices. It makes for a more unique and individual army that can be effective in your hands but take time to learn in the hands of anyone else. Cookie cutter/ internet lists trim down on the variability of the game and streamline tactics and play styles which IMO diminishes the game massively.
  12. Why would you play Warhammer in a non friendly environment?
  13. Thanks for the feedback all, thats what I expected. The list isnt a pushover but it really makes me have to "play" the game in order to be consistent with it, not your point and click chaos army that has only a single purpose. This army tries to balance the aggression with a 3 medium point denial blocks that must be engaged and broken to earn points. The war shrine allows me to be more patient with the infantry and chariots while the knights and shaggy go cause some disruption. Magic will be important so I need to gamble with lighter spells and NOT MISCAST, the bound on the war shrine will help.
  14. I think T4 block infantry are underrated in general, dryads certainly fill a role in this army of a tough steadfast unit. If they were still S4 and normal infantry it would be totally OP.... They would be BETTER than biguns which would be a travesty... ;)
  15. no, only a single shaggoth with two hand weapons.
  16. This list is a simple smash face list. The only model that I still need to purchase is the war shrine everything else is painted and washed. This will give me the opportunity to go over the army and do simple hi lights to make the purples and magentas pop, completing the army. Ive been playing lists similar to this for a while, the newest additions are the chosen, shaggoth, and war shrine. Ive always liked chosen warriors and I own the models so I might as well bring them out and see how they fare over the course of a 6 game weekend. Im bringing a block of 20 which I will run in a myriad of formations depending on the situation, main idea is ruining them wide, possibly 7-10 on a flank. The war shrine seems like a fun element to play with and I hope will play to the strengths of a patient Slaanesh army that is hard to get many points out of. Shaggoth has been a fun addition in the few games Ive used him, he is a converted old metal giant on a 50x50, about the size of a shaggoth, so thats how ive been running him. I just push him straight at support elements on the flank to pull attention from my main force, he fails charges and whiffs like an oaf, but I guess thats just typical. 2800 OFCC LIst -Sorcerer Lord Lv4 Mk Slaanesh *lore of Slaanesh Daemonic Mount, barding Warrior bane Charmed Shield Dispel Scroll Talisman of Endurance Crown of Command Flaming Breath *goes with chaos warriors. -BSB Mk Slaanesh Daemonic Mount, barding Shield Pendant of Slaanesh Poisonous Slime Soul Feeder *rides with chaos knights 20 Warriors of Chaos Mk Slaanesh Full Command, Standard of Discipline Chariot Mk Slaanesh Chariot Mk Slaanesh 5 War hounds, Vanguard 5 War hounds, Vanguard 6 Marauder Horsemen Mk Slaanesh Flails, Musician 20 Chosen Warriors Mk Slaanesh Full Command , Halberds 10 Chaos Knights Mk Slaanesh Full Command, Ensorcelled weapons War shrine Mk Slaanesh Shaggoth x2 HW What do you guys think?
