  1. I think Fantasy actually is in the opposite boat right now, its as big as Ive ever seen it. Tournaments are filling up and people seem to be really into it right now, even with all the "doom and darkness". A lot of players have failed their leadership tests and are panicking. I refuse to do that. The End Times books are some of the best fantasy products Ive seen in a very long time. I have all the books so far and have been thoroughly impressed with the story and progression of the world. I mean for 15+ years the game was at a standstill story wise and its refreshing (for me) to see change, kill beloved characters, and create a more treacherous environment for the "good guys". Id tell you to not let others discourage you from building an army, we are fortunate enough in the NW to have a solid community of WHFB players. Regardless of what happens in 9th, you will get games in locally.
  2. Its analysis, its their opinions based on their experiences, I certainly was entertained by the commentary, as thats what it is, entertainment. **I wouldve like to see an Adam Sinclair episode, he is the funniest battle reporter of all time, his honesty and mannerism crack me up. I dont agree with them about everything and excuse their lack of knowledge on new players from other regions. They certainly dont understand the PNW and our play style up here, nor do they know the caliber of player that we have representing our region, I think they will be pleasantly surprised. Looking at Romes for best General and Ricky for best painted. Im assuming they will get half their predictions wrong, but they are trying to create media coverage for the event, I think its awesome. I appreciate the effort.
  3. Yeah, I plan on being there around 4pm today. Ill be looking for 2 games as well. Id like to play the brawl missions, 2 and 3.
  4. Yeah, the only changes I would make is changing the slaughterbrute to a Vortex beast and finding a way to get a warshrine in there. That way the lv 2 will have support in the magic phase. That vortex spell is a great range threat, while the warshrine has the off chance of turning a unit champ into a Daemon prince. Its worth considering, as even a 16 comp score would be really high for Woc. This list certainly has potential, gotta get some games under your belt and give yourself time to learn how to play it.
  5. That is an awesome warriors list! Good looking 19 comp. haha! Can the slaughterbrute be bound to Kolek, or does he have to be bound to the Exalted?
  6. Congratulations to all of you guys that made the team! Have a blast! I think this is the first time the NW has even participated, I will certainly follow on social media. Thanks for posting!
  7. This is a list I came up with for the Black Sheep Brawl. I wanted to do something in the 12-15 range in this tournament that had a chance of competing. I feel like Skaven are a shadow of their former self in the tournament scene and when comped against the swedish system. Its just too hard on them anymore considering how much the other armies have come up in their hard back transition. (dwarfs, all elves) With the current meta, all the attacks/re rolls anymore, [big bad swear word]ing flaming cannons EVERYWHERE, I am playing the range game. I will attempt to wreck my enemies force before they even get a chance to pick their dice up and "try again". This list certainly has its weaknesses, but if some of my shooting doesnt kill itself, I can put myself in good position by turn 3 to grind out a much smaller army. Gotta get my 2 warlords into combat late in the game to mop up, I will plan on keeping them in the same unit to maximize killyness in the center. Bonebreaker will be able to charge out if needed, he isnt my general, so I see him as expendable to a point. Please let me know what you guys think. Warlord *general Armor of destiny, poisoned attacks, GW -7 Warlord Bonebreaker, ogre blade, TOP, charmed shield -9 BSB Obsidian Amulet Ironcurse icon -12 Warlock LV2 Dispel scroll, ruby ring, Pistol -15 Warlock LV2 Doom rocket, WEC, Pistol -26 Warlock Brass orb, Pistol -13 30 Clanrats FC WFT -6 30 Clanrats FC RG -5 30 Clanrats FC RG -5 40 Slaves Mus, Champ -7 40 Slaves Mus, Champ -7 8 Giant rat pack 7/1 -2 7 Gutter runners, Slings, Poison. -10 7 Globadiers Champ -1 10 Jezzails, Champ -5 Warp lightning cannon -20 Doomwheel -16 2399 Swedish Comp: 13.4
  8. I really like this list. At first, I thought that 5 combat blocks might be a little much due to LD and BSB proximity, but that is not an issue when you have 18" reach on both from one model. This list certainly has potential to be competitive and fun all at the same time, Id play it!
  9. They ARE space elves.... Reminds me of a Destiny dance party. (love that game)
  10. How can you say that Dwarfs are "nearly unplayable" in the new rules when you had two draws and a win? I thought they played fine, and TBH you had a chance to blow me out in our game. You simply werent aggressive with your Longbeards, irondrakes, or xboowmen in the middle of the battle. My slaves and clanrats wouldve stood no chance against any one of those blocks no matter the size. My big magic phase didnt happen until bottom of 3, and I advanced straight towards you each turn before, i really think that if you'd have threatened with the LBs it wouldve been over early. I had one threat on the right flank with my warlord, you certainly dropped their number to a reasonable level, but didnt chaff them with any of your copters. I really think that the dwarfs have options but they have to balance their shooting by charging stuff.
  11. You can certainly fit all of those options into a WoC army. Dragon ogres arent taken as often and are generally seen as a poor choice, I tend to disagree. They are fast, have swift stride, 4W, and can be S7, which is a great option to have in any army. Id go with the vortex beast over the slaughterbrute, as I just cant find a true role for the latter. By bringing a Vortex beast and a Warshrine, you'll have 2 additional bound spells on the table which is always nice. You should be able to bypass needing 2 wizards and can spend those points on combat characters while still having an offensive magic threat. Ill second 'dont panic' about Woc being a great starter army, plenty of cool options, cheap to start, and dynamic in the movement and magic phases. I hope you follow through and start playing, its a great game and community.
  12. They are rat daemons, they've perfected the "tuck tail and run" thing. Just got my Verminlord yesterday at DA for the CheeseGrater. Im looking at the corrupter or warpseer. I think plague is an amazing spell to get to re-roll and ASF is nice, but 2 brass orbs (1 on a warlock) on the table and 6 S5 hits for WL every time is pretty nice. Ill have to try them both out in respective armies. Super cool model kit.
  13. The new magic rules were awesome, I really enjoyed what they did to the game. It just seemed to be more dynamic than the normal rules where people just 6 dice big spells. After 3 games in a row with the new set, Id consider NEVER GOING BACK. I like the new rules that much. As for the Dwarfs, they have options and possibilities to stop magic just like any other army, we all have to defend in a magic phase too. Although the Dwarfs werent casting offensive spells, you were unloading with 7 war machines and we cant dispel those. Just gotta find the right balance. Great gathering of players yesterday, I had a blast, thanks!

  15. Well, lets sign in here. I will be playing Skaven. I unfortunately will not have any of the new shinys painted yet so will be running a Grey seer instead of Thanquol or a Verminlord. Excited to get 3 games in with the new magic rules, see how they affect the game overall. I think it will be fun. -LG, I will have my list in this afternoon, I am a slacker.
  16. Yeah, but if you give up all your high magic spells by swapping them, you will lose access to high magic, right?
  17. So the max lores he would be able to take is 4? As he would swap 2 of his high magic spells for 2 others and thats it?
  18. So by swapping a spell, do you lose one? Isnt that a swap? Therefore you'd lose a lore if you only had one spell from it that you were swapping for another? Even though this is just a "fun" tourney, I tend to agree with Romes on rulings. If there isnt a FAQ or an official ruling, I'd steer clear of it.
  19. Why wouldnt the slaan just take wandering deliberations to get all the spells? Isnt that an option too, kind of like the Swordmaster of Hoeth wizard?
  20. I cant believe I never saw this! Ive been nerding out on this game recently and have 2 other friends I play with most nights during the week. We need 3 more to do Raids. We are all zombie players and desire the challenge, but realize that we need more people. MN, we need to play! I have a LV29 warlock and a lv15 hunter. This game rocks. The three of us typically start playing around 7:30pm on weeknights mateo1346
  21. Perhaps Im getting the wrong impression from the wording, it is what it is...
  22. Is this OFCC turning into a "lottery" system with limited space, or are we trying to encourage growth in a hobby that we all love/hate? Id hope that the OFCC would get bigger every year and promote an inclusive attitude, not an exclusive one. Id say that the tactic of "limited space" is detrimental to the growth of the hobby/event. I say boo. People like LOF shouldnt be scrambling to get in.... Just sayin'
  23. I dont believe Gothor the Beastlord is an option in the Legion of Chaos list, I didnt see him.
