I see no reason to even have that rule if the intent was to stop recasts with dispels. The only reason to have it is because a spell was dispelled. It gives the casting player a chance to get off that one important spell.

bleah....two days till rampage and I have no idea what I really want to play. If I want painted, then its either dwarfs or wood elves. The problem is that I haven't played a single game with either of them. The dwarfs look so static, I just can't believe that they will stand up to what I've seen on the tables so far. The elves have more mobility, but barely any combat units...and I just don't own enough shooting to do the job there. My most competitive army would be my Undead Legion. I look at what it brings, and it just has a nice mix all around. But not painted. I could do HE again, but also not painted, and no games with them since the new book. That leaves beastmen (never played a game with), or orcs & gobs. gah!

Do you have to determine the level you are casting a spell at before you roll the dice to see how many you get? or can you declare the spell, roll the dice, then say what level you are attempting to cast?

I would say it sounds as if you are trying to base for advantage. Since you are supposed to base your models on the bases they come with, and now you are upping the size just because other models got them....

I'm having trouble deciding on a paint scheme for my Tau. But I'm toying around with this idea. Now my whole army is unpainted, so hopefully this will work out well.

ooooo you could do a sinking island scenario. At the start of each turn, roll a d6. That is how much the water has risen measured from the table edge. You keep track of the total distance each turn. In a 6 turn game, the average distance is going to be 21" leaving you a 6"x30" band in the center. That sounds like a hoot.

$3 a mini for the rank and file. That isn't too bad. FW is $6 per mini, so I'm not sure where you are getting your price comparison at. Plus these guys fit in with the big hat crowd.

No, I'm up for making a deal. Hence the "these are up for trade" post. I had hoped someone would buy them for the low low price they were being offered at, but alas, people would rather trade I guess. So yes, we can work out a deal hopefully for the bikes.

I like the mantic model line for Chaos Dwarves. It is the one line that keeps pulling me back to look at it. I never cared for the big hats of old CD, and the new FW ones are very nice...but way too expensive. So if I wanted to collect an army now, you bet it would be Mantic's. None of their models really compete with GW in terms of quality. But they I don't think they warrant words like 'trash'.
