  1. So I know nothing about Malifaux, but I've always been interested in it. Now that I'm not pouring all of my time into Fantasy, I was thinking about getting the 2 player starter set when it drops; something to give me a run-down of the game, something I can demo out to the wife and others, and hopefully something I can add onto. My hope is that I can pick up the starter, then pick up the "real" rulebook, along with a starter box or two and have a good launching off point. The Guild doesn't interest me very much, and outside of the C. Hoffman starter there isn't one that I would be "excited" to pick up. The Neverborn, on the other hand, appeal to me quite a bit. Jakob Lynch seems the coolest to me, although The Dreamer and Zoradia are both need looking. I'm mainly curious what is going to "mesh" well with the box contents, and if there are any starters that just wouldn't work for them at all. If that was the case, I would probably just hold onto my $65 and put it towards something else.
  2. Was able to find a substitute for the Marauder head I was looking for. Still looking for the BloodBowl stuff before I have to go to FeeBay. Thanks!
  3. Definitely holding on to my Ogre army (no interest in letting those guys go, will probably be buried with them, heh), but like a lot of people I'm waiting for the dust to settle. Trying out other things and having a really good time with it. Mordheim is and has been my favorite GW system for a while now, so I feel pretty lucky that I get to play that on a weekly basis. I've played a single game of Kings of War. Wasn't bad, but I was still very much in WHFB mode, as it was a week after OFCC. Couldn't shake the feeling that it was "WHFB Lite." Definitely want to give it another shot though, maybe once the actual rule book drops. Picked up some Blood Bowl stuff that I'm messing around with. Looking at giving Malifaux a shot, possibly Infinity. Played a game of 40K with my nephew on Sunday. All in all, keeping busy! I do miss Fantasy though, don't want to see it go away. Unfortunately haven't seen any "living / community" rules put out there that I've been a fan of. A lot of them seem to be trying to reinvent the game, when I feel (IMHO) that one or two things just needs a tweek from 8th. But that might just be me.
  4. Thanks for the write up Tim! Sad I couldn't be there, but glad there were good times to be had. I only played against Dante once, and it was when his warband first got started, so I'm curious to see how though of a nut it is to crack now. Looking forward to next week!
  5. Taking a look, I think they are a bit too "elegant" for what I'm looking for, but I appreciate it!
  6. Ok, looking for a few things for Blood Bowl. Mainly looking for plastic figures from the 3rd ed starter box, might consider alternatives though. Orcs: 2 Blitzers 2 Black Orcs Humans: 2 Blitzers Maybe 1 Ogre (metal, 2nd or 5th ed) WHF: This Marauder Horsemen head: (got it) Loose Nurglings from the current Nurgling swarm sets. 2 Plaguebearers (current plastics) Check out my other thread to see what I have to trade! Thanks!
  7. I might have some, I'll take a look through my bits box.
  8. Like the title says, I'm buried in Mordheim projects and have a bunch of Bloodbowl stuff coming my way, clearing out some old stuff that is taking up space in hopes of getting some new lighting / new desk. I can provide pics of everything, just let me know. Vancouver (WA) pick-up, would prefer not to ship, although will consider it. Empire Army $40 - 34 Halberdiers – Magnetized onto a 10x4 movement tray. 40mm unit filler in the middle plus two spots for heroes puts you at an even 40. A few older 6th ed figures in the unit to give it character + metal command, otherwise bare plastic, current range. SOLD $12 - 8 Knights (Horses assembled, rest on sprue) $10 - 1 Great Cannon $10 / ea - 2 Mortars (have the cannon bit for one of them if you want to pop off the wheels and build it that way instead) $25 - 3 Demigryph Knights (1 assembled, 1 partly assembled, 1 on sprue) SOLD $15 - 5 Pistolers SOLD $15 - 10 Flagellants SOLD $13 - 1 Mounter Warrior Priest / Luthor Huss Magnets - $25 Litko magnets to magnetize the whole army + more leftover: 20 x Rectangular Miniature Bases: 25x50 mm 100 x Square Miniature Bases: 20 mm 3 x 8.5x11 inch Flexible Steel Sheet 10 x Rectangular Miniature Bases: 50x75mm I’ve used about 1/3 of one the of the Flex Steet sheets, and a handful of the 20mm magnetic bases. Still should be about ~$50 worth of magnets there. More than enough to do the entire army and have extras leftover. $25 - Ogre Kingdoms Stonehorn Stonehorn is assembled, looks like the guy I traded tried to add some green-stuff fur to him. Rest is unassembled, looks to be a mix of Stonehorn and Mournfang parts? I've got pics of everything included. $??? make me an offer, I have no idea what these guys are worth - Epic Orks Traded for some Epic Ork stuff, thinking I would get into it, but I've got no time for it. Far as I can tell, I've got: 23 Gunwaggons 3 Stompas a couple stands of Boar Boys $12 - 15 Dwarf Warriors Current plastics. 14 assembled, primed, some paint on 3 of them, 1 on sprue. Full Command $10 - 5 Bloodletters Current Plastics, on sprue I've also got a list of MTG cards I would be happy to trade. Mostly EDH stuff, LMK if you are interested and I can get you a list. I would be willing to do trades / partial trades as well. Small list of what I'm looking for: 1 Box Plastic Plaguebearers OR 2 Plastic Plaguebearers + plastic single Nurglings. Top Priority! 9. Tim, I'll tell you what I told the rest of the guys on the Facebook group: MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  10. Just a note for anyone outside of the "usually" group that might show up next Tuesday, please just give me a heads up! Drop ins are always welcome, but I'm running a special scenario next week which requires a bit of prep. Thanks!
  11. As Tim said, feel free to bring whatever you would like! We do have a wide range of warband ratings out there, but the "average" seems to be around early / mid 200s. That being said, Warband Rating doesn't always equal "better warband," as my 220 Witch Hunters found out after getting smashed by some 150-ish Undead. We'll just make sure you don't go up against the 300+ Orc player we have, haha. Only thing to keep in mind is that some of the "house rules" that you use wouldn't be compatible with ours, but if you're playing Mercenaries there probably should be any problems, just a few mechanics that might be a little different than you are used to :)
  12. I'm using Bloodreavers / Bloodletters for my team, with Champion heads / Khorne Berzerker shoulder pads to tell my Heralds apart. These guys make a good Bloodthirster, along with the rest of the team range: http://www.maki-games.com/product/mk1881-ares-team-16-players/
  13. Had a great game Tim, even if I was less than pleased that m Flagellant hero kept rolling "2s" to hit, heh. Probably karma for how badly I stomped my friend's Nigh Goblins! But yes, great games all around, looking forward to next week! Had a local interested in joining up the league, so hopefully we might see some new faces next week :)
  14. Master of Blades: This Dwarf’s martial skills surpass those of a normal warrior; he has fought unscathed against hordes of Orcs and Goblins. When using a weapon that has a Parry special rule, this hero parries successfully if he beats or matches his opponents highest ‘to hit’ roll, not just if he beats the roll. In addition, if this warrior is using two weapons that have the Parry special rule, he is allowed to parry two attacks (if his two dice match or beat the two highest Attack dice against him) instead of the normal maximum of one. Note that if this Dwarf has two Dwarf axes (as detailed above) he can re-roll any failed parries.
  15. That seems about right. A constant 5+ seems a fair balance, as under the "regular" rules they would have chances at parrying stuff on 3+s / 4+s.
  16. Curious how the Master of Blades skill interacts with parry being a straight 6+? Not that being able to parry twice with a re-roll isn't already good enough, just wondering how the "parries on a tie or better" part would work.
  17. Was able to get ahold of a set of dice, but thanks guys!
  18. Not at all man, we would love to have you :) Nice thing about Mordheim is that, even if a warband has an experience advantage on you, the Underdog Experience mechanic does a pretty good job of helping balance out new warbands. I will send you a copy of our "house rules" that we use; they are pretty close to right out of the book, only a few significant changes to help balance some things :)
  19. Was wondering if anyone had a set of block dice for Blood Bowl that they would part with before I fork over cash to have some shipped from across the pond? I've got PayPal (credit) or trade now, or could do cash on Friday.
  20. I tried this, but it just looks like they are holding chunks of weapon handles instead? Maybe I need to mess around with it some more...
  21. They also have Flagellants, which are probably the best henchmen in the game, IMO ;)
  22. Hey, not sure I'd this should go here or in Artificer's Forge, but I was wondering if anyone has any tips for removing weapons from the hands of minis and making it look more natural for BB? I've got some Bloodreavers that I drilled the weapons out of their hands, but rather than looking like clenched fists, it just looks like they are making "Os" with their hands...
  23. No need for a car man, if you start walking around noon you should make it to Salmon Creek just in time! In all seriousness though, wish you could make it Nate, but I totally understand; I wish I could make it to Portland, would totally play on both sides of the river if I had the time!
  24. These sheets are the best, IMO. It's really easy to forget racial maximums when leveling up characters, having them right on the sheet helps a ton. Same thing with being able to tick off henchmen advancements.
