  1. No reason I can think of; since the unit maneuvers together and are removed as a whole, you essentially treat the whole unit as a single model.
  2. Maybe I'm a bit biased by how well my my Ironblaster did at OFCC, heh. I think I managed to take off: A Dwarf Cannon A Grudethrower A Gyrocopter 2-3? Peg Knights 2 Empire Cannons A War Altar An Elf Mage of some kind + some assorted troops. He also ground out a unit of High Elf cav over a few turns of combat. Don't think I lost him in any of my games, as I was able to duck and weave away from other cannons and take them out before they got me. But I see what you are saying Nate. I think raising the cost on cannons might be a way to go. If nothing else, the Ironblaster needs to be way more expensive, heh.
  3. At S8, is that really don't anything to help keep monsters safe from cannons though? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are hardly any monsters that are T7 or above, outside of Storm of Magic? Warsphinx comes to mind at T8, but with most things being T6 or T5, S8 is still going to be a 2+ to wound. Only thing it really does is allow 1+ Armor to still matter (albeit at a 6+). Again, unless I'm missing something here, I think S7 base would be the max you could put a cannon if we are talking about helping out big stompy monsters.
  4. What about lowering the strength of cannons in general, as a simpler fix? Make them S6 in general instead of S10? Engineer (Empire or Dwarf) within 6" makes it S7, Dwarf Rune of Something makes it S8? I think that, along with randomizing hits between monsters / riders would go a long way to keeping cannons good, but not "too good."
  5. What are people's thoughts on doing the league in the style of the Blood Bowl league instead of having a set night? Get paired up, have a couple weeks to get the game in? I remember when Pete was running Vancouver Fantasy Night every other week at Dice Age after last year's OFCC; seemed like Pete, Fixxer, and myself were the only ones showing up regularly, maybe a true "league" style will allow people with less flexible schedules to participate.
  6. Tell me about it. Perhaps someday I won't work 2 jobs and have more time for hobby. But it is not this day.
  7. I've got a Dread with MM / Fist with flamer. Assembled and primed. Think it might be AOBR. LMK if you are interested, I can get you pics.
  8. I would love to be able to commit to a Vancouver league, but Tuesday is the only day I can "set aside" for gaming, and I run Mordheim Tuesday nights. I will do my best to try and make a game night though.
  9. Good Old Games just put out Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate, Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat, and Warhammer Epic 40,000: Final Liberation. I got into the PC game a little late, but I remember playing the demo of Chaos Gate back before I knew what Warhammer was, so looking forward to picking these ones up! http://www.gog.com/
  10. Two quick questions I have after running through the rules on my lunch break yesterday: -If a unit has a "-" value for part of it's nerve (for example, Beserkers for Kingdom of Men have a nerve of -/12), does that mean they are effectively immune to Wavering when it comes to Nerve checks? -Do Heroes join units? Or can they only run solo?
  11. Hey all, just wanted to give any Vancouver people (or Portland people willing to cross the river, heh) a heads up that our new "league" for Mordheim is up and running, and new players are more than welcome to join! Tuesday nights at 5, at Mythic Realm Games in Salmon Creek. I will be sitting out next Tuesday to recover from OFCC, but I know most of the other guys in the group are planning on meeting next Tuesday. If you are interested and want more details, feel free to drop me a line :) Cheers!
  12. Thank you sir! Mainly curious where my Flagellants / Demigryphs would fall, looks like they will be represented. I suppose I could use the 'Gryphs as either Beasts of War or Chariots, although I like the idea of a unit of Holy Priest War Chariots smashing into battle, heh.
  13. Any chance I could get a rundown on the Kingdom of Men units not present in the free army rules? Don't necessarily need all the stats, just curious about what units the free rules are lacking.
  14. Alot of the "official" Mordheim miniatures are considered pretty collectible, and can be fairly expensive. However, it's pretty easy to just use current Fantasy (or alternative) miniatures for your warband.
  15. I was pretty bummed at the loss of movement trays with AoS, because I had the idea of using my metal Valten model as a statue in my block of Halberdiers. Looks like I might get that chance after all! ...not to mention I had already got the unit ranked up and magnetized before it got put on hold while I waited for AoS.
  16. Eager to check them out. I'm curious if Kingdom of Men will get more unit entries than the list I saw... I've got a big block of Flagellants that I would love to use
  17. Good luck to you sir! Wish I had time to play Mordheim in both Vantuckey and Ptown, love it! If my endorsement means anything (probably doesn't ), I can't recommend Mordheim enough. Plus it definitely helps to scratch that "Old World" itch!
  18. Turned 32 this year, and have been heavily eyeing Pike and Shotte. If I pick that up and only play 8th Ed,will that instantly age me 20 years? #nerdproblems
  19. Looking for a few things for the Blood Bowl team I'm converting. Need for my Heralds some combination of: Bloodletter Champion Herald of Khorne plastic character Herald of Khorne on Bloodthrone Herald of Khorne on Juggernaut (head) Forgeworld Herald of Khorne Just the head would be fine, I can figure out the rest. Also looking for some Khrone Berzerker should pads and 4 - 6 plastic Bloodletters, if you wanna sell them to me cheaper than eBay. I've also got various bits (tons of Ogre Kingdoms / single models) or MTG I could trade. Thanks!
  20. I picked up a set of Bloodreavers that I'm going to use for some Blood Bowl conversions, but that's it. For what it's worth, I actually think the SigMarines look damn cool, even if I feel they are out of place in a fantasy setting.
  21. Not to piggyback on Sam's topic, but I'm looking to pick up a set of Bloodreavers of anyone wants to work something out ;)
  22. I've looked around for the rules for 2nd Ed and I was only able to find the beta rules, so I think that's what is floating around. I could be mistaken though.
  23. 2nd Edition rules will be available for free download on July 10th. Looking forward to checking them out! http://manticblog.com/2015/07/03/try-kings-of-war-for-free/
  24. Cool, I have full Empire and Ogre armies already, eager to see how they translate to KoW :)
