  1. Any neat basing options for those of us who prefer square bases? Something that is not as clumsy or random as a cicle; a square is an elegant basing option for a more civilized game.
  2. I need to get my hands on some Warmaster-scale dwarves and show you silly humans how to fight proper. Cavalry? Oliphants? Flying throw rugs!? HARRUMPH!
  3. This seems like the best place to share this: IMG_1777.mov Now I really want to think of other non-Newtonian monsters and do a whole “high level” dungeon themed around it. Maybe make the dungeon’s map non-Euclidian too.
  4. Eh, I find the extremely stubby main gun to be a little silly looking on such a massive chassis and turret...
  5. Either tank is a tremendous points sink, but if you can only have one, go for the Baneblade. The Hellhammer is very short ranged (36”) with its main gun and the longer ranged weapons (lascannons and hunter-killer missile) only go out to 48” and aren’t much of the threat to the things you want a super-heavy tank to be dealing with. Neither the Baneblade or the Hellhammer is a reliable “Titan Killer,” although they can be pressed into the role if needs must. Where they shine is dealing with Knights, Greater Dæmons, and heavy tanks (e.g., anything that used to be AV14). The longer range of the Baneblade main gun (72”) often lets it hit those targets from further away than they can retaliate. Sponsons usually aren’t worth it, certainly not two sets of them.
  6. The machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear fire. Their war to exterminate mankind has raged for decades, but the final battle would not be fought in the future. It would be fought here, in our present. Tonight... …in a dance off!
  7. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/skyraiders/skyraiders-of-abarax-a-5e-world-from-tracy-and-laura-hickman/widget/video.html" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"> </iframe> Sadly, I don’t have the spare cash to back this project. But it’s a new D&D campaign world from freakin’ Tracy and Laura Hickman. ‘Nuff said.
  8. I started a new job in early September and then had some household projects (complete remodeling of the kids’ room) swallow my few days off in October. I’m hoping to resume weekly games in November…
  9. This day is called the feast of Crispian…
  10. Aww, man. My kids would have loved this four or five years ago…
  11. Goonhammer for GW content, but mostly various YouTube channels.
  12. That’s ‘The Prisoner,’ to you Number 6.
  13. I have seen previews on various blogs and YouTube channels. I also downloaded the “beta” pdf of the rules… I really like what I see. The author of the game flat out says he created it because he thought 18th and 19th Century historical minis (e.g., Napoleonics and AWI) look really cool, but the thought of collecting and neatly painting a whole regiment of them was too intimidating. Which is like, whoa, me too!
