  1. Yes, sir. The check is in the mail.
  2. Also available for perorder now: • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Order Battletome – Kung Fury (October, 1987) • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Chaos Battletome – Kung Furher (December, 1987) • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Death Battletome – Lo Pan (February, 1987) • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar Destruction Battletome - Jack Burton (March, 1987)
  3. There are currently only two Watcher in the Dark miniatures in Citadel's range: the Lion Helm Bearer that comes with Azrael and the swordbearer that comes in the Deathwing/Deathwing Knights/Deathwing Command box. Here's some nice alternatives: https://blackcatbases.com/product-category/figures/figures-cherubs/
  4. This whole debate could have been avoided if GW didn't insist on using "dice" as singular and plural. I know that it's grammatically correct, but using the singular "die" and plural "dice" is equally correct and much easier to parse.
  5. Given that this incentive campaign is clearly aimed at people building new armies and is administed by the local stores, I would be shocked if the local guy(s) didn't use their discretion to award points for "equivalent" unit options. That's just basic salesmanship and customer service. If I was running a league like this in a store and little Mikey and Molly McExample were collecting Tau and Necrons – armies without psykers – I'd give them the points if they purchased, painted, and used an Æthereal and Cryptek. They fill the same general niche in the game, require the same level of hobbyist skill, and (although I probably wouldn't mention this aloud) carry roughly the same profit margins for the company. Likewise, the Tyranids don't technically have tanks. But if Mike and Molly's mom decided to jump into the hobby with some space bugs, it'd be silly not to let her count a Tyranofex or Tervigon as a tank.
  6. I'm thinking they might make excellent mid-field objective campers. Properly buffed, they aren't going to be shifted unless your opponent gives them a lot of attention...
  7. But how are the new "All Primaris" Chapters organized? I mean, I know that I can always invoke Rule Zero and say "My army, my fluff." and make it up... But I like to know how things are "supposed to work."
  8. Purely fluff question, but does the new codex explain how Primaris Marines are organized at the company level? The age old four Tactical, two Assault, two Devastator pattern seems to have been chucked out the window.
  9. Nihilist communism declares that God is dead... and an ambitious necromancer replies, "Oh, really?"
  10. They get to re-roll a single failed hit and wound roll. Flamers won't benefit from the to hit re-roll, obviously, but they'll benefit from the wound re-roll just as much as any other weapon. More importantly, unlike past editions, the Salamanders' trait isn't limited to just flamers, meltas, and thunderhammers... They've now got mastercrafted everything! Salamanders' Hellblasters are going to be a scary prospect if you rely on a lot of Terminators.
  11. You're going to really have a lot of fun* playing against Raven Guard... *Disclaimer: No actual fun is implied or promised. Void where prohibited.
  12. I'm still miffed I cannot do a completely "null deployment" with my Deathwing. That was like my primary purpose for collecting them! I didn't want tanks or dreads or drop pods! ::angrily shakes powerfist at the heavens::
  13. Thanks WestRider, I missed that part of the Transport sidebar. Interestingly enough, it seems that you cannot have the Transport and transportee Unit deployed together unless the Unit is actually embarked.
  14. That's what I expect to happen, as that's how the equivalent bonuses work in AoS. It would be nice to see an allowance for one or two "non-keyword" models, like an Inquistor or an Assassin, but I can live without it. The WH40k factions are nearly as broken up as some of the AoS allegiances.
  15. All the missions that I have read state that players alternate deploying their units one at a time. A transport and the unit(s) it carries are separate units. Player A: "I'll deploy my Rhino here." Player B: "I'll deploy my Chimera here." A: "I'm going to deploy my Devastator Squad embarked in that Rhino." B: "I'm going to deploy my Veteran Squad embarked in that Chimera."
  16. It's not that "olde tyme," I mean it's not even Old English! (Editor's Note: Ish was a history major. Ish considers anything that happened after 1776 to be "current events." Ish is kind of an idiot.)
  17. Why? It's a rare case of GW actually spelling something correctly. Unlike "Primaris," which I think they meant to be "prīmāriīs," but that's the dative masculine plural of the word... Nomiative masculine plural would be "prīmāriī."
  18. Well, I guess that Raven Guard preview should put an end to the "Ultrasmurfs are OP!" whinging on the internet. Note I said "should." I don't think it actually will.
  19. Chainfist to the face. Solves most problems, really.
  20. Any unit that doesn't have a Citadel model was left out of the five initial indices.
  21. Heavy Weapon Teams in Infantry Squads work best when they compliment the role of the other poor blood infantry (e.g., heavy bolters enhance the anti-infantry weight of fire of all those lasrifles) or are a useful weapon when split firing that doesn't necessarily need to be used in groups but benefits from all those poor bloody infantry acting as ablative wounds (e.g., lascannons). Heavy Weapon Squads work best when issued weapons that work best when used in groups (e.g., mortars and missile launchers). It also depends on what role you see the HWS playing or who you are playing against, a trio of heavy bolters behind an Aegis Wall can make for a nasty "no go zone" denying a swathe of the table to light infantry... "Rhino Rushing" Space Marines would hate to see a trio of autocannons set up in the same manner.
  22. And don't let the Slaaneshi daemons Snoo Snoo. No matter how nicely they ask.
  23. I think that lacking a special infiltration deployment makes for an interesting point/counterpoint with traditional Scouts. On the other hand, I really expected them to have some sort of post-deployment/pre-game "scout move" to get them into position. As it stands, they'd be absolutely gold if they could make use of a Land Speeder Storm... But they can't. I'm really hoping the forthcoming codices add something to the Primaris Marines other than what's been announced so far. I'd like to be able to have Hellblasters with other special weapons besides plasmaguns (esp. flamers and meltaguns), I'd really like to see more wargear options for the heroes, and I really hope they get an "Hover Rhino" APC to complement the "Hover Razorback" Repulsor IFV. (Drop Pods wouldn't go amiss either.)
  24. Deathwing Terminator with Assault Cannon. Because more dakka is best dakka.
  25. "But Commissar, wot if I should meet a womæn of Ill Repute?"
