Running Custodedes cheap it's almost 14k in points. Spending those points on all Grots, then spreading them moderately ( 2 square inches each) gives  you enough to cover almost 2 1/2 full game tables with no terrain.

Base to base they're still bigger than a standard 6'x4' table.

These are all, "back of the napkin", PCC (pre-coffee calculations).

Realized I made an error, no klaws on the slugga/choppa boyz.  Lose 2 lootas for it and get back a kommando.

Well true and all the grots weapons are pistols so if even all of them can't fight a turn, that's is more than 12 rows of grots shooting. Hitting on 4's wounding on 5's. Someone is going to fail an armor save

It would be 4's in combat instead of 5's and 4's in pistol shooting. 

6's to wound with melee, 5 for shooting. 

 

My money is on shooting killing custodes

I thought the +1 was just to hit and would therefore apply to both shooting and combat... did I misread the rule? Yay 3+ "ork" shooting

Fair enough. I like it. So 3's to hit at range and 4's in melee... The question still stands how many grots can you get in to shoot?
