InfestedKerrigan
That's a lot of data. I don't have an easily accessible version for that. I wasn't coming up with it, either. Dug around on 4chan for a hot minute. The 500 was a guess on the basic Guardian Battlehost. 100 on the Farseer, 270 on the guardians. "Twenty new datasheets for the Eldar" I don't have the Warzone book, but looking at the Datasheet icon, I'd wager it is an Apoc Datasheet, not a standard sheet. Guest
It depends on the book and if it says 'Codex: Eldar' or not since there is no Codex: Eldar anymore. New eldar book is titled, "Codex Eldar Craftworlds". Seems difficult to argue it isn't Codex Eldar... http://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Codex-Craftworlds-ENG
Guest
Just googled it, doesn't look like it. http://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Warzone-Valedor-EN Still a valid formation, though, isn't it? Also depends on whether they are apoc datasheets or normal. That book is apoc datasheets.

Seems difficult to argue it isn't Codex Eldar... http://www.games-workshop.com/en-WW/Codex-Craftworlds-ENG Why would that be difficult? Your post made it clear that it is not Codex: Eldar by referring it to Codex: Eldar Craftworlds.
Guest
Really going to argue that this isn't "codex eldar"
pretre
Example: Which of these two books is Codex:Eldar?
pretre
Really going to argue that this isn't "codex eldar" Yep. Just as Codex: Adeptus Astartes Blood Angels isn't Codex: Adeptus Astartes
pretre
If anything, I would call the new book 'Craftworlds' and not 'Eldar'

pretre
Both. Okay, so go ahead and tell me which unit is on page 80 of Codex: Eldar then.
Guest
Yep. Just as Codex: Adeptus Astartes Blood Angels isn't Codex: Adeptus Astartes I think it's both Codex: Adeptus Astartes and Codex: Blood Angels. I don't think it matters now, but I think GW's planning to have it matter in the future. That said, I think it is notable that the 40k factions are based on "codex title", so if they are not codex eldar, but codex craftworld, then who can they ally with? pretre
Also, aren't allies based on Faction and not book?
pretre
? It was to prove the point that Codex: Eldar can't be two books.
Guest
Also, aren't allies based on Faction and not book? This is where a codex being two books would matter. page 118 discusses factions. The notable feature is that Eldar is a faction, while codex harlequin and codex craftworld are not (unless their books say otherwise), as they are not "older publications." As written, a CAD or allied detachment can include unit selections by faction, not by codex/book. This also means that allied detachments from the same faction are invalid options. Guest
Also, armies of the imperium are not a single faction, but are considered one for allegiance levels only.
pretre
Right, so it being Codex: Eldar only matters for things that specifically refer to Codex: Eldar.
Guest
Right, so it being Codex: Eldar only matters for things that specifically refer to Codex: Eldar. Yeah, I think that's it. It is both codex eldar and codex craftworld. Would not be surprised if GW releases units with preferred enemy (craftworld), or similar type things. InfestedKerrigan
Example: Which of these two books is Codex:Eldar? That does more to Validate that Codex Eldar is still valid, because Harlequins didn't make Eldar go away.
pretre
That does more to Validate that Codex Eldar is still valid, because Harlequins didn't make Eldar go away. It is arguable that there are three codexes now. :)
InfestedKerrigan
It is arguable that there are three codexes now. :) The removal of Codex: Eldar and Iyanden from the webpage, and the availability of Harlies and Craftworlds support that there is no argument. :)

Threejacks
So now that the book is out, whats the verdict on this? Are we back to 6th edition Taudar power levels in relation to all others?
