VonVilkee
I really want to run that Gallant Lance sometime, just for sheer ridiculousness. Need to buy three of the new kit to do it, tho, so it's not happening anytime soon. Buy three dreamforge mortis leviathans! They come with a fist and Scythe close enough!
WestRider
Honestly, I prefer the GW kit, despite the relative lack of options for it. The Leviathans just don't really work for me, while the GW Knights hit that same vibe as when I first cracked open Adeptus Titanicus way back in the day.
VonVilkee
I'm the opposite I love the aesthetic of dreamforge could take or leave the GW one...
WestRider
Ain't subjectivity fun? Hooray for the free market providing both of us with options we like! :)
AbusePuppy
The Mortis Leviathan costs less than half what a Knight kit does right now. >.>

VonVilkee
So should I run three knights as a baronial detachment or something else?
pretre
So should I run three knights as a baronial detachment or something else? No reason not to, unless Adamantine is still available.
AbusePuppy
And is half as good looking. Those things are seriously goofy looking. Yeah, I really don't like weird, huge vehicles with impractical designs and skulls everywhere. o wait-
InfestedKerrigan
I'm always a fan of some good old fashion Mech on Mech action.
VonVilkee
No reason not to, unless Adamantine is still available.Well there is the one with objective secured... Could be interesting to actually deny my opponent objectives that way... Even if Adamantine is still avaliable I want the new patterns and the lance is specifically paladins and errants... The book pages you provided don't show an update to it. A warden or crusader with bs 5 is cool

AgentP
So, are knights now useable as a LoW in a combined arms detachment for imperial armies, like marines?
Steel Angel
No you get one by an oathsworn detachment. But they count as a LoW. So if you can only have 1 LoW your army they would count.
AgentP
Okay, so I still have to burn a detachment allotment on one. Darn
AbusePuppy
The Forge World Knights can be taken as Lords of War for an Imperial army still, unless FW changes that.
cadaver2k
So if I understand correctly, adamantite lance is still going to work with this new codex right?
VonVilkee
So if I understand correctly, adamantite lance is still going to work with this new codex right? Yeah nothing I see invalidates it but all knights are considered lords of war at all times now. That might impact your ability to field it in an event or tourney. pretre
Yeah, just keep in mind AL specifies the type of knight.
Brother Glacius
Quick question, I have the old IK book. Is that now completely superseded by the new book?
VonVilkee
I'd say so, the new one has more options and the old book was mostly invalidated by the faq any way. The new book calls the old detachment the oath sworn and has no rules for warlord etc. Just 1-3 knights. The new book gives way more options and lines up with making them an actual force not a book with a couple of big robots. Stats and points stayed the same just more options.
