Brick Bungalow
My desire to read comic books has returned with a burning passion. Here are a few authors and artists I appreciate. Some are life long favorites and some are new discoveries. Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett Brian K Vaughn Alejandro Jodorowski and Mobius Windsor Mckay Tom King Alan Moore Neil Gaiman Lots more really but I'm really just fishing for new leads! What awesome new discoveries have you made recently?
WestRider
Not a recent discovery, but Warren Ellis. Far and away my favorite writer in comics. Transmetropolitan, Planetary, Ministry of Space, and Nextwave are the big ones I'd recommend, but I don't think he's ever done anything that wasn't great. Mostly, tho, I read my comics online these days. Shaenon Garrity (Narbonic and Skin Horse), and David Willis (a sprawling mix of interconnected works stretching back to the 90s, but my fave is his current project, Dumbing of Age, basically a College AU reboot of his earlier work).

ROGRE
Easy... Warren Ellis' Planetary Andozane beat me to it. It is incredible! Also: Brian Azarello and Eduardo Risso - 100 Bullets Rick Remender - Fear Agent Grant Morrison - The Filth No new discoveries for me here either but I can't help myself when someone wants to talk comics. Everyone of these guys write some great stories beyond the ones I listed.
Raindog
I like David Walker and his new Power Man and Iron Fist. Since I spent a weekend rubbing shoulders with Amanda Conner and her husband, Jimmy Palmiotti, and saw what great people they are, I will laud them.

David Walker's bringing back Power Man and Iron Fist actually got me buying comics again. Plus he's a Portlander and a pretty nice dude.
PourSpelur
I'll double down on Scott's recommendation for Atomic Robo. Fantastic read!
ROGRE
Jollyork recommended Pax Romana to me which led to The Nightly News, both are written and drawn by Jonathan Hickman and are worth your time. His meticulous research and unique layouts are impressive.
andy
I love Bandette -- totally fun. Also, Rat Queens -- more total fun. I'm so tired of grim and gritty melodrama.
dalmer
My current shelf of TPBs: Sandman Scalped DMZ 100 Bullets Fables Walking Dead Lazarus Scott Pilgrim Preacher Strangers in Paradise Saga Y the Last Man Thief of Thieves Gotham Central And then tons and tons and tons of bagged/boarded runs. Some titles you can google and see what they're about. Some hold up, some are excellent
jollyork
Grant Morrison's revival and run on DOOM PATROL was excellent. Very strange, very satisfying.
