  1. Test paint first rig for my USMC.... about 1.5 hrs... I think it will work for tabletop. I will address a few other details over time - but I think I will have this army done in a week. -d
  2. I have my army assembled - I will finish priming tonight and start on paint over the weekend. And I have been slowly getting things gathered for the island assault table set up. -d
  3. I have started planning out pieces for a tropical island table set up.
  4. I am selling my older Resin 3D Printer - Anycubic Photon S - in working order with extras (Bottle of Resin, Extra FEP sheets). Upgraded plate leveling system - with original parts as well. I am local to the Portland, Oregon Metro - outer south area. I can demo the printer at my location prior to purchase. (set up - basic operation, cleaning, curing ... etc.). 100$ obo - IMG_2250.HEIC
  5. I am reposting this for the organizer from the facebook group - "Rosti's Gambit" ========================== Ok my fellow Bolt Action players in Oregon (and Washington too). I have a date reserved for the next open game day for March 13th (a Sunday this time)! Same place as before in Aurora, Oregon. We have room for plenty of players and I’ll plan to setup 6 tables to support 12 players - can setup more if we have enough players RSVP. If you are interested in attending please let me know by a PM here or email me at Crostocil@rostisgambit.com and I’ll get your name on the list for updates. Basic setup as before: - 1000 pt armies- 2.5 hr games- Scenarios from the Rule Book ========================== If you have any questions - I would refer you to the facebook group for the email above. I can also relay questions if needed. I have not played Bolt Action yet ... but am planning on having my USMC ready to go for this. -d
  6. I imagine the new avatar will be around 100$ minimum - which would ridiculous -d
  7. I am interested in the new codex... I won't pre-order - but I may pick it up down the line. The new deathjester is just about the only interesting figure to me at this point as well. The new Avatar is cool - but I have the FW version - and it isn't that much of an upgrade to spend for a new one. -d
  8. here is a question for y'all - I am trying to de-clutter my hobby - which includes 3d printing... mostly this means STL files. My downloads folder is full of them... and various other spots that I manage on my computer. But I really need to get a handle on some organization for them. Especially if it is something I plan on holding onto for awhile after I print it. I am thinking the normal folders with different categories... folders within folders...etc. Renaming files with more descriptive names... or lots of tags on the files so I can search for them in other ways. OR some standalone file system which will allow me to have thumbnails??? Anyhow, It is a big subject. How are you doing it? -d
  9. Finally got around to printing this nice version of a grown up dark grogu.
  10. I talked to the organizer of the Bolt Action game day they had in Aurora (near Canby, Oregon) the other day and they said they are just starting to plan for another game day in February. He decided to skip a January event due to Covid stuff going around anew. When I know more I will make a new post about the event. -d
  11. Looking at Elegoo's numbers (currently using their resins myself - Water wash and ABS like) their optimal setting is 25ºC-30ºC (77ºF - 86ºF) ... which is probably an adjustment I need to make on my set up - I think my heater doesn't go on till 71-72 lol. REF Doc -d
  12. Hmmm I think my low temp trigger is around 71 - and the fan doesn’t go on to help cool till 80 I think. I’ll have to look tomorrow at my meter settings. But I think I got those numbers from a user group or one of the resin manufacturers. but - true - I’ve had a bad bottle before as well. interested in how this turns out. -d
  13. Is your printer in a heated room? I have had issues when the temp has dipped... I have both my printers in a heated enclosure and still at times have issues - I tried normal (non water washable) and got better results. Although I was getting great results about the end of November - before things got to be a real winter (cold / freezing temps). With some minor tweaks to my exposure settings and bumping up the temps in my enclosure I have started getting some success (with non-water wash). I will go back to water wash resin when things get warmer and I have a longer track record of success with my current settings. I also have 3-4 bottles of resin staying at temp in my enclosure lol. Resin printing has been really finicky for me when it gets cold. My set up is in my detached garage - insulation is questionable - so it does get chilly. I have started to leave on a electric furnace when I am printing over night to help out with the heater in the enclosure. best of luck. -d
  14. yes - I think we can --- just looking through my bfg box and I am not seeing any Orks - I think these would be a good starter force. -d
  15. Hmmmm may be interested- I’ll look through what I have today
  16. I hear good things about these paints ... Pro Acryl by Monument Hobbies... but I have not tried them yet. Waiting ... currently out of stock on some sets. https://monumenthobbies.com/collections/pro-acryl-paints
  17. DANM ad popping in there lol... lol. Thanks for the heads up... fixed Heroes Infinite Eldar Patreon
  18. I have lots of paints... 2/3 are GW - My biggest gripe is the pots lol. I have picked up an army painter set for my airbrushing - which are pretty nicely set up with tri-shades. I have moved probably half of my favorite GW paints from their damn pots to dropper bottles over the last couple years. -d
  19. meh... the guardians were already plastic - would have been nice to see other units pulled out of the metal age ... but come on... did you all see the Heroes Infinite "Eldar" from their November 2021 Patreon? VID - compelled me to pay up... and I haven't played Eldar in 40k in about a year LOL -d
  20. Army painter sets are a nice starting point - they are coming out with a new set of “contrast paints” soon as well which would be a good start as well. If your just getting back to painting- I’d really suggest looking into an airbrush- just for priming in the winter is a great step. Also look up zeinthial priming on YouTube to see some pretty good techniques to prime your figures that make the rest of the painting go easier. (Especially with contast paints, inks or washes). -d
  21. As a long time Eldar player... this isn't giving me anything to feel like going back to play 40k. -d
  22. I got mine - I now have my stargrave minis.
  23. Cool - I will be keeping my eyes out for any tourneys after I get my armies built (Norman & Vikings) - and my son and I will practice down here south of Portland. Unfortunately, Monday nights up i5/205 would be prohibitive to my sanity lol. -d
