Can we get a grant to do that? Funny you should say that about the shield; in another video, he responds to comments along those lines and then goes into exhaustive detail about archeological finds and shield sizes.... I love this stuff. So nerdy, but endlessly fascinating.

Yeah, the channel has been awesome for reinvigorating my imagination when it comes to medieval (and later) arms and armor. It's also amusing to note that a lot of my preconceptions about what arms & armor were like and how they functioned are completely based on fiction.

This is that channel I was talking about last night. English accent makes it doubly entertaining. I love listening to this type of amateur historical research. It seems like one of the fields where an enthusiastic layman can still make valuable contributions.

6th was definitely my favorite, though I still had frustrations with it. With some tweaks from later editions added retroactively, I think homebrew Sixth+ would be a fantastic game.

Fury Road is my new favorite movie. 11/10.

The Witcher is FANTASTIC. They made some game play changes from the first to the second which are very nice, but hte 1st is still fun. The story is great, and the world is very well-realized. It has the best gritty fantasy flavor I've every seen in a game. If you play through the Witcher 1, your choices will have effects on some elements of the Witcher 2, as well as your starting gear. Rumour is thatthe same goes for the Witcher 3. The Witcher games are great for having very interesting choices to make, which have real impact in the game and change the narrative considerably. If you are only going to play one, then the Witcher 2 is the way to go. One of my favorite games of all time.
