  1. Hey friends, I lost my phone some time this weekend, which, once I get my new phone up and running is going to deprive me of the greatest joy in life - drop-kicking a cell phone into the lower atmosphere. In the meantime, imsg, pm here, or facebook are all ways to get ahold of me. N

  11. No, flame throwers don't explode. The naffatun as LT. is actually quite tricky, because it is something most people aren't use to looking for. The Rifle Ghulam would be the more obvious choices. It looks like you are using two starter boxes to get to a 300 point list. This is a rather...awkward list, as you have two groups and a lot of miniatures that require loads of orders to be effective, so you are going to struggle to use everything to it's full potential. For instance, the Fiday is a terrifying murder machine, but he needs orders to do his stuff. He is in the same group with 2 Ragiks, who don't deploy to the board, so they won't provide their orders on the first turn. When they do come on the board, if you want them to do anything other than sit around, they need to be fueled with orders also. Then you have the Hunzakut and Daylami, who are irregular and don't provide orders to your pool. So in your army, 33% of them won't be contributing orders to your first turn, and then you have your army split into two groups, further making it difficult to achieve your objective. I would recommend starting off with a smaller army size with this selection of minis, perhaps 150-200 points. Oh, and the Jannissary Akbar doctor is the best dude around. Seriously, that guy is awesome. Find a proxy for a Nasmat remote, and free up 3 points in your list to give him a helper robot. The Nasmat allows him to see through it's eyes, and doctor through it's hands, so you can spread your AWESOME healing ability around the table. It also allows the doctor to react to things the Nasmat has in LOF but he does not, so you can use it to get your Doctor extra dodge AROs to help move him around the board. Welcome to Haqq - the best and funnest faction! If you are dead set on using everything here, I would move all of your Ghulam to group one, and put your snipers into group 2. This will give you more orders to fuel your Ragiks and Fiday, and the snipers are effective in the reactive turn anyhow. The daylami are just interesting 'speedbumps' for your enemy, and will probably die quickly as they must infilitrate onto the opponent's side of the table and aren't super good at it. Still, with a Panzerfaust and Shotgun they could cause some pain before they go down.
  12. I will probably play infinity at around 5, then maybe we can get a late game in if you are free later.
  13. Well, you can have these guys in Ariadna: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-p8crrtI877k/VE-vVG34EgI/AAAAAAABVZ0/m6BnOgY7JZs/s1600/10606299_789170661143843_7761506063953541769_n.jpg Pretty ogrish!
  14. I stopped by the thrift store today and picked up a handful of cars. I also got you a little present, Sherbert, that hopefully will be useful in making a War Rig.
  15. I forgot to bring these down, Shae. I will bring them on Tuesday.
  16. Get yourself whichever models appeal to you most! With very few exceptions, every type of trooper is in every army. Just certain armies will have great variety of that trooper, or more interesting combinations. For instance, All armies will have Line Infantry (basic troopers), Medium Infantry (often better gear, a bump in stats), Heavy Infantry (elite stats, heavy armor, often good heavy weapon platforms), Skirmishers (infiltrators and camo troops), Warbands (usually cheap, impetuous, and good in close quarters battle), Remotes (inexpensive robots to fill utility roles), and TAGs (Tactical Armor Gear - Mechs!). Certain factions excel at one or more of these roles, though, and some have unique characteristics. PanO has the greatest variety of TAGs, highest Balistic Skill, lots of hitech weapons, but low phycisal and willpower. YuJing has the greatest variety of Heavy Infantry, and unique remotes, but rather poor line infantry. Nomads have the greatest variety of Medium Infantry, and are the masters of Airborne Deployment, good access to tech, and some great hacking. Also a good variety of cheap TAGs. Ariadna has a great variety of skirmishers, as well as the unique ability to bring mother[big bad swear word]ing werewolfs to the fray. Good warbands as well. Haqqislam has the greatest variety of Line Infantry, as well as impersonators. They have excellent willpower. Combined Army has elite troopers across the board, as well as being one of only two factions that can bring impersonators - a trooper who actually disguises as an enemy and can deploy right in there backfield! They have access to the most advanced tech, and solid options throughout every category, though they are pricey. Aleph is like a 'good guy' mirror to combined - fairly elite, with excellent heavy infantry and warbands, a single but solid TAG, and really good, but expensive choices in all slots. I hope that off the top of the head run-down is helpful. In essence though, all armies in Infinity fight with the same tools, it's mostly about the combinations of those tools and how many options you have. Pick the models you like the most!
  17. Can anyone confirm that 1/72nd figs would be appropriately sized? It seems to be the consensus on the internet. I am looking forward to converting a crew.
  18. Is anyone at Gencon or knows someone trustworthy who is at Gencon who would be willing to assist in muling a few minis from the Infinity booth? They have an exclusive figure that I am trying to get a couple of copies of there. Thanks!
  19. Have a good move, buddy, and we will for sure see you at social events. Tweak Rays beard for me!
  20. The original term was life of the author +50 years. We can all thank Disney for it being extended to 75 years. There is a reason to keep copyright on material that goes out of print, as the demand for an edition may arise again, and just because the other hasn't published one, they shouldn't lose their rights. But 75 years is too long. That's like, 3 generations after the death of the author. Abusrd.
  21. I think an easy solution to the Steadfast woes of 8th vs. the everyone runs woes of 6th-7th would be a simple chart for combat minuses, rather than 1 per wound. History is replete with examples of soliders fighting bravely in the face of huge causaliteis, and also running giving the first excuse. My suggestion would be somthing like capping CR for wounds in the same way as ranks, but maybe adding additional mods like; +1 if your opponent caused no wounds to you, +1 if you charged and are cav, etc.
  22. Chris, where are those available online? I wann peep 'em, but I don't remember the name of the site...
  23. Looks great! Reminds me, I gotta go order one of them!
  24. I will bring some paints and actually PAINT A MINI. I will have Infinity with me if anyone wants to get a second game in. N
