  1. At OFCC I found that the Boarding Planks weren't worth it. The re-roll from 'Ere We Go on charge range basically does the same thing for free. Since you're really leveraging the Finkin' Kap, go for broke on infiltrating. Plus remember that if your Big Mek is your Warlord, you won't be calling a Waaagh with the Warboss, so plan accordingly
  2. Waitaminute, why are you buying Shootas for Boyz you've already upgraded with Rokkits? (or is this an order-of-operations thing?) That would free up six more points, wouldn't it?
  3. Eh, just take the spore, slap it on Glotkin and boom.... Cthulhu conversion.
  4. Oh smeg... I just realized that a Tyrannocyte is a Monstrous Creature. You can transport a MC inside a Tyrannocyte... holding a Tyrannocyte... ad infinitum. Holy Russian Tesseract Nesting Dolls, Batman!
  5. Would the timing work for a Tyrannocyte to disgorge a Tervigon, which would then spawn Termigants? Trying to get a Matryushka Doll thing going here....
  6. No Fluger, you were more of a "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women" player. But WAAC is easier to remember than CYESTDBYAHTLOTW
  7. I've been wanting to get a bottle or two of Mangria (carolladrinks dot com) to try out and share.
  8. Should I bring my copy of the Warhammer 40K Quiz Book?
  9. Good News: The 40K Open will have an even number of players to make match-ups easier. Bad News: I'll have to drop out of the Friday 40K since my childcare for that day fell through. Ugly News: The joy of fighting through Rush Hour traffic to get there in time for the Swap Meet
  10. Sigh... Just in time for me to have to pull out of the competition. My Friday daycare bailed and I'll be fighting the start of Seattle/Tacoma Rush Hour to make it there in time for the Swap Meet/Paint Judging. So is it too late for a refund? I'm willing to take Ordo Fanaticus swag in lieu of money if it makes things easier. Somehow evvery drink bottle I bring home never survives a month after OFCC every year.
  11. As the cream of the crop in trade-bait I've got some new-in-blister Squat Commands (Squat with back banner and Hero type with pistol & rifle)that are so old they have Hexagon slottabases (4 of those) another 4 Off World Adventurers (Cybergirl and Time Lord) also with hex bases. Plus I may be tempted to bring along that Knight Titan I still haven't opened (a 5 year old Daughter and 2 year old twins = bye bye hobby time) and even old Citadel journals if anyone would be interested.
  12. Better against infantry and close combat vs buildings, but lower S shooting.... I think I'll wait for the version with Plasma or Volkite Cannon.
  13. Basically got to get the Objective markers done (turn the additional "2" & "3" into a "5" & "6")
  14. There is a bitz & mini trade thing happening Friday Night at OFCC, if I recall correctly. I'm sorting through my trade-bait and bringing some still-in-blister Squats and Rouge Trader era Adventurers to the party.
  15. Knight Warden with RillyBeegGun , come on down...
  16. Great... Now I have to kitbash a MegaNob with pointy wizard hat and magic wand...
  17. I'm just there to get my 40K skills back up to par before the Team event on Saturday. My list of Mega Armored Nobz will see if they can take down the inevitable Knight Titan in close combat
  18. Yep. Never being able to Sweeping Advance means that all close combat survivors can fall back (and still shoot at you as they go), have a chance to rally and come back to attack on their own terms. Consider a Deathwing list: More shooting, inherent Invulnerable Saves, and often seen at OFCC.
  19. If there's an issue with my all Mega Armored Nobz list I'll just reserve everything but the Grots and let my opponent kill all 22 of 'em so I have no models on the field so they'll automatically win, and then we just keep playing for Gits & Shiggles.
  20. I'll probably just drop one 3 MANz unit and swap the Killsaw for the Lucky Stikk for Friday's 1850.
  21. 22. I've got that covered. Bad Moons with Nazdreg conversion done back when the models were extra-poisonous lead have Moons all over, and I'll dig through my bitz box for 'Umie hats and things for the Blood Axes. Then there's the Ghazghkull conversion to look like the cover from Codex: Armageddon which I need to add embellishments to truly finish. Just need to find more skulls and a Chaos marine helmet to have his 'trophy pile' on top of his Mega Armor.
  23. What better way to tell different units of mostly-identical models apart than by a different paint scheme per unit?
  24. I know... 24 MANz plus Ghazghkull just isn't enough, right? The Big Mek on Warbike is the Wazdakka model I converted way back when he wore Mega Armor while riding on his Battlecannon-toting bike, so I feel he fits the theme in spirit. Plus the 4++ Mega KFF really adds to the early survivability of the list, and in later turns he can drive around and be annoying. I've already got most of the units painted differently anyway as Goffs, Bad Moons, Evil Sunz and Deffskulls, and I'm planning to add some Blood Axes to the mix as well. Snakebite represented by the Grots, of course. Just need to go back and have a tie-in theme color with accent colors different for each unit. Plus the Fearless units are in 5's and the regular units are in 3's. With fewer Battlewagons and only 1 Formation it should be more acceptable to the list rating committee, kind of along the lines of a Deathwing army using a Land Raider or two except far less shooty.
