  1. The issue is that someone could say you are modeling for an advantage when it comes to using prayers and casting spells.
  2. Being able to cast Lore of Death "snipe" spells through them is well....BEAST MODE!
  3. If you treat it as the signature spell it would have to follow the rules for signature spells. They could never be rolled for. This would make Transformation the sig and Wysann's the number 6, for Lore of Beasts. If you are using Life and you made this the signature spell, you would have 7 spells because you still need to have the option for the Lore of Life signature spell and dweller's.
  4. Ok, I just read the rules for the Truthsayer. You have the option to exchange ANY spell rolled for Transformation of Khadon instead of the signature spell. You cannot exchange for both. What does this mean? If you are using Lore of Life, you may exchange ANY spell rolled for Transformation of Khadon. The same applies to Lore of Beasts. HIs special rule allows him to have access to this spell with either lore. The only way to get both Wysann's and Transformation is to take Lore of Beasts and either roll doubles (chose number 6 as one of the doubles and then exchange another spell for the signature spell) or to roll a 6 and then exchange another spell for the signature spell.
  5. Allow me to retort then....why play dwarfs if you don't take war machines? See how this works? You have monsters and they kill them.
  6. I thought you may like that. You play it enough.
  7. I'm torn on this one. List 1 is very magic heavy and list 2 is very monster heavy. I like list 2, but I think some changes with 2 monsters for other things would be neccessary. They are both tough lists.
  8. Unfortunately, if you're not a Dark Elf General, people don't respect that as an acceptable answer ;) The only other race who understands our chaos would be Skaven...which is amusing to me. We both pretty much operate the same way. To put it into DnD terms: It's a Lawful Evil ruler in a Lawful Chaotic society. They should rename Triumph and Treachery to the following....Dark Elf 101, the footprint to a great ruler!
  9. The masses here at Ordo have spoken! Runelord army it is. Time to start painting....ugh!
  10. Yes, I'm sure, and NtK hit the quote from the book. Once again, this proves why every Dark Elves general should introduce themselves in the following manner: "Hello, I'm [insert name], I play Dark Elves and I love to cheat." Make sure to keep a straight face as well as a smile during your entire introduction.
  11. Here's my opinion: I believe it should be number 2. Why number 2? Dark Elves have the option to exchange 2 spells for both signature spells. I know we have a specific rules which allows us to; however, this one is pretty vague. Raindog, you should let them get both spells. Neither one of them is OP.
  12. I played Empire for 5 years. Pistoleers never did me any wrong. They have great shooting output and can redirect with the best of them. A unit of 5 (champion w/brace of repeater pistols and a musician). They do wonders. 12 S4 AP shots....they can kill knights better than most fast cav could ever dream of.
  13. Eric, sounds good. I'll be able to make it down there Sunday as well. I'll be there bewteen 4 and 5. It all depends when I release the rear detachment.
  14. Murphy, learn how to play those pistoleers. They are top 3 best fast cav, easily.
  15. When I played skaven, my grey seer never left his nest without one. It really depends on what lore you're using, IMO. I don't think dark elves need it for casting dark magic. In that instance, I believe it to be a complete waste of points.
  16. Murphy, I'd have to know what other units you are taking in your MSU. Knowing that might help in suggestions for your bsb option.
  17. While I love the idea of a BSB, or any character for that matter, on a chariot. I don't think it's worth the risk. No marching, war machine heaven, and all your opponent hopes to do is shoot the chariot from under him. At that point, the character is usually out of position, or you have been slowing playing for the BSB re-roll. If you do want to run a character on a chariot, I would just suggest a master and not your bsb.
  18. I am going with Bretonnia. The models are down, like you stated, this is a past trend (not only with lizardmen). I only hope they don't mess up the virtues. The book, in itself, isn't bad, it just takes a bit of patience and finesse to play. I would like to see knights on foot (and not at the ridiculous expense of those damned virtues) and halberds should be a unit upgrade for Men-at-Arms.
  19. Roll above average? Again, I am confused. You don't need to win by killing out right. The odds of the character gettign the charge is very likely. 10" plus the highest of 2 dice of 3D6 (roughly 17"). Hitting on 3's (re-rolling misses), and wounding on 4's (re-rolling 1's) and then -3 to armour saves. You should get about 3 wounds. Then, they attack back and hit on either 4's or 5's with, maybe wound twice and maybe get a wound past a 4+ armour save (after modifiers). Stegadon loses by 3, on average, with no re-roll or general LD nearby, they run more often then stay. All the DE player has to do is roll avergage. I am still extremely confused at why you continue to think DE just don't have the tools, unless they get extremely lucky or get superior dice rolls, that they struggle against these types of lists. Heck, with the amount of lists running a level 4 on a dark peg with lore of death. You could pretty much just sig spell them off the table without even needing to engage them. Of course with this solution, there are much more variables to put into play.
  20. Where at in beaverton? What day of the week? What warbands are going to be allowed? Are there any restrictions to this? I have a witch hunters warband needing to get painted.
  21. I'm down for an open game. It is actually a great learning tool.
  22. Masters are held in north carolina, I believe. They just had them last month.
  23. Gotcha on the slann role. I think you are mistaken with the dark elf book. A master with a lance and CoT can eat up a monster in a single round of combat.
  24. I'm not sure. I attended the 40k event last year because vonruger and myself were working during the fantasy event. I don't know how fantasy OFCC is yet However, it looks like it would be fine for a friendly game. You have shooting, magic, melee, all of the elements you are showing in the above list works for Dark Elves.
