  1. Okay, question for the hive mind. Those who have used resin and FDM printers, which is more reliable? I have an Ender 3, which is a great little printer, but I'm getting really tired of having to mess around with it and dial it in every time I get a fresh roll of filament. I can get a Photon for $170, and if I had to, I could bodge together a vent system to barf the fumes out the window. Is a resin printer going to require less messing with to get it to work right?
  2. Yeah, I've been looking at Anvil, I'm also considering Victoria and Mad Robot. Victoria and Mad Robot ship from here in the States, so that's a plus over Anvil; shipping from the UK is pricey, and their [big bad swear word] is just generally a little on the spendy side anyway.
  3. Awesome, good to know. Now to figure out what arms & guns to use (probably go third party, because nuts to trying to track down *just* the arms/guns from a GW kit) and see if I can figure out just the right amount of jank for their gear & vehicles.
  4. What it says on the tin. Can anyone provide them? Specifically, shoulder-to-shoulder width? I'm considering a Skaven-Guard project, and I need to know if the typically available guns/arms out there will work with Skaven torsos, or if I'd have to get even more serious with kit-bashing.
  5. Y'all have no idea how deeply upset I am that I can't come play Mordheim. You just don't even know. I may cry.
  6. The Photon is widely regarded to be one of the best resin printers on the market. Once I live somewhere that I can vent the fumes, I plan on getting one.
  7. Yeah, I noted the other day that it had changed. I also noticed that when scrolling through a topic, there's a small break where it says "unread replies" so you know where you left off.
  8. Amazon. Only problem is finding a filament you like that's consistently available; right now, everyone and their dog is printing up PPE for hospitals and the like. Don't get me wrong, go makers, but it's making it hard for us hobbyists to keep up. EDIT: I just discovered this one this morning. I'm going to order my next spool through them, and see how it is; if it's good stuff, then I'll just go with them. https://www.matterhackers.com/store/c/mh-build-series-pla?utm_source=MatterHackers+Newsletter&utm_campaign=fd483e50b8-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_01_30_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_dccd3cdce8-fd483e50b8-128194651
  9. Finally got off my ass and did some hobbying. Gotta wait for daylight to prime his base (custom 3D printed!) But after that, he'll be good to go.
  10. Alright, good to know there's a fairly even spread here. I'll have to bring them in more when I actually get them collected.
  11. Nothing like an ice cold Astartes Cola after a hard day of fighting Xenos and Heretics!
  12. What it says on the tin. I'm curious what armies most of y'all play the most. I'm trying to decide on a second faction, and while I'm kind of keen on Necrons (and had all but settled on them before 9th was announced) the release of Indomitus and the subsequent starter boxes have caused a massive spike in new players. I know the shop I play at has half a dozen or so new Necron players, and I'm trying to move away from Marines to escape the mirror matches, not add to them again.
  13. This sounds like absolutely hilarious fun. I see Ironclads doing well.
  14. Grill is getting fired up tonight. Sirloins, corn on the cob (on the grill, still in the husk, naturally) and some diced potatoes and onions wrapped in foil and cooked under the coals. If you're not spelling it uisge beatha you're spelling it wrong, so there. 😛
  15. Although it pains me to drop out, it pains me even more to stay in - I've been spending way too much time at the computer since the lockdown hit, and my repetitive stress injuries are flaring up, so I need to start limiting my TTS adventures. Y'all have fun, and I'll play again next season.
  16. Option four, if you have a printer and some patience, is to pick up some waterslide transfer paper off Amazon or something and print your own. https://www.amazon.com/Sheets-Inkjet-Transparent-Printer-Transfer/dp/B06XP7NZ62 There's a guy I follow on Instagram who's been doing just that with classic bomber nose art for his Imperial Guard flyers, and they look stellar.
  17. A heavy bolter is the Space Marine equivalent of a heavy machine gun. They won't ever reduce it to one shot. Even GW isn't that ridiculous... (famous last words, right?)

Company Commander Arman Blackburn, freshly promoted to Colonel, has been selected to lead the force based on his logistical prowess and unwillingness to squander that which the Emperor provides. He has received attachments from several Armageddon divisions to ensure that he has a well-rounded force to work with, the better to crush the enemies of the Emperor under the boots of the Steel Legion.
  19. Heh. Nah, I'm testing out Steel Legion to see if I want to invest in them as a second army in the next couple months.
  20. Oooh... must... resist... urge... to play Elysians...
  21. Groovy. They're the same PL for an extra wound and T, which is kind of silly, but like I said, if I'm running Steel Legion, it makes more sense.
  22. Building my Crusade roster, I assume Forge World units are okay? I'll be running Steel Legion, so it's fluffier to have an Armageddon Pattern Basilisk than a regular one.
  23. I know. I'm probably just going to wait for Battlescribe, honestly. It's just easier to build a list with that.
  24. The GW app is trash and keeps crashing on me. I'm going to have to wait for Battlescribe. At least they're usually pretty fast, they had the updated point values for matched play up within 24 hours.
  25. This is exactly how I felt when I first started playing in 3rd ed, because EVERYONE played Marines. It's part of the reason I chose Orks. And now that I have Marines, I really don't want to play them anymore, because they're dull and overpowered.
