Guest Mr. Bigglesworth
Carnifex are way cheaper :-). Brood is 435 in white dwarf. Not quite 4th, but middle. Guessing 130-140. Not sure if worth it yet but nice to see it drop.
PumpkinHead
After looking at the new Old One Eye, I am kind of sad that they didn't just re-use his existing model. I feel that anyone that wants to play him should feel the pain and agony of putting together that model. The tyrant guard models seemed to haven taken alot of fire from the Tau and managed their saves, so I wonder if they have a better save now... but that is probably wish listing.
fluger
Didn't Tyrant guard have 3+ saves? That's good 'nough vs Tau as most of their stuff is either AP4 or AP2 (not all, certainly).
Lord Hanaur
I look forward to seeing more bugs about. I really do hope they don't make the "best builds" godzilla movies. Id like to see a ton of variety.
fluger
GW seems to have real issues trying to balance out horde units. I hold little hope with this dex that loads of gribblies will be good. As well, the changes to 6th edition put a lot of power in the hands of MCs, so I don't doubt that they will be the creme de la creme of units in the dex...again. Oh well. fleetofclaw
I'm holding out on buying any units until I read through the codex, my sincere hope is that the Haruspex is good since I just love that big slobbery beast, but my money is on the Exocrine actually being a better choice. The Crone (awful name) sounds like a total no brainer, but $80.... ouch. All in all in excited I just hope they make genestealers viable again. Have you guys seen the leaked data slate? 3+ stealer broods w 1 broodlord, 3+ Lichtors and they *all* come in via Lichtors chameleonic ambush... sweeeet
WestRider
I didn't go nuts. I picked up the Codex, the Psychic Power Cards, and the Haruspex/Exocrine, because I figure at least one of them has to be good, and I like both versions of the Model. Probably gonna grab a Crone when I get my tax return, but I want to wait and see the statline on that one first.
InfestedKerrigan
The wingspan on the Harpy/Crone is too small, imo. The arms look funky on the Exocrine, too. :\

PumpkinHead
If the rumors are true, http://natfka.blogspot.com/2014/01/someone-with-tyranid-codex.html , it seems that hope is all that remains. Looking more like a kick to the nutz rather then a decent update. Here is to hoping our book is more balanced then the train wreck it looks like. fluger
Why does what was reported there sound bad? A decrease in points on most things and some functional buffs all around?
intrizic
it's complex, mainly, the gripe, and assumption I believe, is that some of the cost of the those price reductions is a reduction in the # of attacks the unit gets. According to rumor, you can get the attack back with 2 CC weapons, BUT the rumor is also that scything talons no longer give re-rolls to hit of any kind. That's what I've been able to glean. pretre
People are panicking over insufficient information. Remember before the last codex when people were saying Tyranids were going to destroy everything they touched with no problem? Or before Eldar when everyone said they sucked? Yeah, about that... Sometimes it pays to wait for the codex.
fluger
Get out of here! Wait for solid evidence before jumping to conclusions!?!? YOU CRAY CRAY! Incidentally, I was one of the people that AFTER looking at the old Nid Codex thought certain units would be great that turned out to not be great (hormagaunts). InfestedKerrigan
Dihydrogen Monoxide is the real killer. Accidental inhalation is known to cause death. Prolonged exposure can cause severe tissue damage, up to death. DHMO is the real killer.
intrizic
I think a little trepidation is in order. If you're a 'nid player, you've been hurt before, there is a certain reflex that may occur when you hear certain terms....like 'new codex'. PumpkinHead
I am going to assume if you give AG to a Hgaunt, the fleets wont stack into something nifty. Would be nice though. Not sure why you would use blinding venom though... seems like a small reward for the risk taken. If regen is truly on a 4+ again... that could be pretty mean. I wish it was Saturday...
