Raindog
Per the temp gauge on my car, it was 104 in Manzanita today. Manzanita. On the coast. The 52 degree Pacific next door. The only good news is that we were in the waves for an hour and 45 minutes straight. No wet suits. The wind felt like an oven. The water felt like an ice bath.
Grensche
Man. That sounds brutal. But AMAZING! Here in the fine city known as Auburn was at 95 degrees today. I would rather be where you're at than sitting at work sweating balls in a pair of black wranglers and a sweat soaked Jungle Rot shirt.
Raindog
I was glad to get out of the city, but some places should never be over 90 degrees.
DisruptiveConduct
That is both awesome and terrifying. I'm heading to Lincoln City Friday night. Maybe I'll get more of the same?
dkieft
Couple years ago we went to Seaside to avoid the heat for a weekend... then it breached 100... 1

rudra34
Still 85 in the house. If it stays like this any longer you might see me on the news running naked through town screaming at people. 3 1

You would think being on the coast the temperature would be a little cooler. Sometimes the weather can really throw a curve ball at you. I was in Las Vegas in June two years ago. Big mistake.. Everyday was 115 degrees. 1
Raindog
It is 32 degrees cooler today! This morning, I hiked the boulder pile from the beach to the cliffs. I made it 3/4 of the way to the point before my daughter wanted to turn back. Just got back from another walk in the surf. The beach is flat and compact and effortlessly to walk on. 5

I honestly never knew it could get that hot. I would leave my hotel just to walk into the hotel next door. Even night time didn't make it feel better. Next time I'll go during February/March, supposed to be a lot cooler.

JMGraham
Flew into SeaTac last night. It smelled like crap and made my throat burn. Glad to be back in B'ham. While hazy, it's breathable. The combo of the heat and the smoke must be brutal.
Grensche
Burn bans have been lifted not too long ago. But yesterday was still hazy if not worse.
