  1. BA tanks are fast again this morning.
  2. I can only go on what YOU said you have. A couple HQs means 2 usually... Anyway, it doesn't matter. Nothing you say is going to convince me, and vice versa. Yay!
  3. You've got 2 Eldar HQs as well, so that's a wash. So 500 + 100 - 375... 225 points difference in "support" units isn't much more than losing a spider squad. I was under the impression you were talking about virtually erasing the council. If you think you can virtually erase their entire army top of turn 1, well, we really are playing completely different games then.
  4. Oh man, there'd be a fight.
  5. If you are going first and have LoS with enough of your stuff to "virtually erase" them then you're either playing an idiot or with no LoS blocking terrain. I don't like to consider either of these situations since those are silly. Not sure how much support is really lost since both armies have 2 roughly equal HQs, so the Knight and a unit or 2 should pay for the locks and the nominal cost of the DE since Baron is criminally cheap. We're not going to agree on this since our experiences playing 1500 point games seem to be so divergent that we won't come to a consensus.
  6. Just my opinion, but I don't see how the vague outline of a list you gave deals consistently with a seercouncil. Witchblades should kill a knight before it swings, and they're going to have their own serpents too. Even nerfing the re-roll on a 2+ to a 4+ is still only 1 in 12 wounds sticking. Generally that's still pointless to mess with unless fortune isn't working.
  7. How can it be a spoiler if it hasn't happened in the show or the books?
  8. Okay, go to it. Psychic Deathstar, blob guard, skyblight, SM biker superfriends.
  9. I don't think we could disagree more on 1500 point games. Even at 1750+ this game in it's current form is very rock/paper/scissors. There is, again in my opinion, no way to make a list at 1500 that covers all your bases. If you're getting everything you need even at 1750 then you must not be playing against a variety or lists, or ones designed to exploit weaknesses in opponents armies. You cannot build a single army that can deal with psychic deathstars, blob guard, flying circus, and SM bike superfriend lists even at 1750. At 1500 the game is even more match-up dependant since at that point level, after you've paid for enough troops to hope to score objectives, you can maybe get the tools for half of those problems.
  10. 4+? I know about the "interpretation" that all of the hits with that order are precision, and the more likely one that it's on 6's... Where's 4+ coming from?
  11. I myself have had people zero my sports at OFCC after a game that we were laughing and joking around during because they didn't like my list. Having post game sports scores boils down to did your opponent beat you? yes/no at least enough of the time that it seems silly to me. I can definitely see having favorite opponent pins and having a way to report bad attitude/game play but list rating is done before the event isn't it? Why bother with ratings if you're going to have it scored every game?
  12. I'm trying to figure out where this comment came from in relation to lascannon platoon squads? lol?
  13. Precision in as far as what characters have doesn't work when snap firing.
  14. The missiles are separate weapons now from what I understand.
  15. Use PotMS to fire 2 Manticore missiles in a turn?
  16. If both of your troops are in fliers that aren't scythes you're asking to lose them when their plane crashes to the str10 ap1 no cover hit they take from the crash.
  17. Almost all of the individual models that make a deathstar go are ICs and passing off wounds on a 2+ and all of the deathstars have good invulnerable saves and most with re-rolls of failed invulnerable saves. Thinking 1 wound not from a D weapon is going to snipe out the guy that makes the whole unit go is unlikely at best. The Wyvern trying to do it with lots of hits is a better chance but 2+ armors with a re-roll after LoS... Until a major change to the rule set happens, or until the community decides not to play them any more, trying to kill one of the real stars is pointless in most situations.
  18. Okay, so you strongly dislike just not playing with this set of rules,Instead you advocate playing with them but making a list of changes, again instead of just not playing with them in the first place. If you have to house rule half of the rules for Str D then why bother with it in the first place?
  19. What tournaments have been dominated by Tau? Just curious. Also, losing to a very new book written for the current rule set with very old books not written for the current rule shouldn't be taken as some great indicator of the current army being out of whack. Yes, Tau are strong, but looking at tournament results of the second half of 2013 Eldar was the dominant faction. Are we going to ban Eldar too?
  20. What rules are in play? Escalation? SA? Formations?
  21. I've been playing with Tyranids quite a bit lately and it seems to me that if you're going to use any FMCs then you need at the very least 3, and 4+ would be better. With only 1-2 they're going to get focused and die quickly. If that's all you have I think you'd be better served using those points for Swarmy and TGuards instead.
