Brother Glacius
hehehehe Pretre just doesn't want to see. But he knows it's there. Guil looks like a grown up version of Joffrey. I'd have posted a better pick of Joff, but most of them are unusable in the forums.
pretre
March, For Macragge So, a Primarch returns, the warriors of Titan join the battle and a lost son of Caliban returns to seek redemption (or possibly destroy everyone – the jury’s still out). A few pictures of March‘s issue of White Dwarf have been circulating the internet today, but as with all leaks, they were taken during one of Nottingham’s many earthquakes, so the picture resolution is a bit blurry. So we thought we’d just share the whole article with you! Here you go folks, an exclusive from the pages of White Dwarf on the final instalment of the Gathering Storm trilogy, a whole month early. Don’t say we never give you anything. Enjoy! The Imperium of Mankind is in turmoil. Warp storms rage across the galaxy, tearing holes in reality through which spill legions of heretics, traitors and Daemons. The Maelstrom waxes strong, spreading tendrils of empyric energy across the Ultima Segmentum, while the Eye of Terror has grown larger than ever before, eclipsing the Cadian Gate and swallowing the planet of Cadia. Imperial forces race to the breaches in realspace, determined to ensure that Abaddon the Despoiler’s 13th Black Crusade goes no further, but they are sorely pressed, for the Warmaster’s forces have appeared across the galaxy and have even laid siege to Macragge, home world of the Ultramarines Chapter of Space Marines. Besieged, the Ultramarines do not know why they are under attack, yet they will find out soon enough, for an unusual delegation has arrived… Roboute Guilliman was one of the Emperor’s 20 sons and Primarch of the Ultramarines Legion during the days of the Great Crusade. A superlative statesman and leader, he was also a formidable strategist, formulating battle plans and tactics that are still in use 10,000 years later. While Guilliman continued his father’s work following the Horus Heresy, he was eventually brought low by his treacherous brother Fulgrim. Interred in a stasis field before he could die, Guilliman has remained at death’s door ever since… ‘Gathering Storm: Rise of the Primarch’, is the third book in the Gathering Storm series, concluding the story arcs that began in Fall of Cadia and Fracture of Biel-Tan. The heroes from both books – including Saint Celestine, Inquisitor Greyfax, Belisarius Cawl and the Ynnari – continue their quests, travelling through the Eldar webway to arrive in the Ultramar system. As you can probably tell from the title of the book, their arrival sparks one of the most miraculous, game-changing events in the history of Warhammer 40,000 – the resurrection of the Primarch Roboute Guilliman, who must then come to terms with what the Imperium has become in the 9,000 years he’s been in stasis. Alongside the book comes a trio of brand-new miniatures, first among them Guilliman himself – marking the first time a loyalist Primarch has been made in plastic. It’s a monumental event with massive repercussions, as you’ll soon find out. In the darkest hour…March sees the release of Rise of the Primarch. Like the preceding two books – Fall of Cadia and Fracture of Biel-Tan – the title is pretty blatant, and the front cover leaves nothing to the imagination – Roboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines Chapter, is reborn! This 136-page hardback book follows the introduction of Roboute Guilliman to the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium and the monumental task he has ahead of him – that of saving the Imperium. Alongside a cracking story, you’ll find rules for using Guilliman and his advisors in your games of Warhammer 40,000, plus maps, ’Eavy Metal showcases, epic illustrations, new missions, army-building options and plenty more besides. The realm of Ultramar is the setting for the third book in the Gathering Storm series. The book contains a star map of the entire region, detailing the many worlds that Roboute Guilliman must rescue from the clutches of Chaos before he can look at saving the rest of the Imperium. The major battle scenes in the book are recreated with the Studio’s vast collection of miniatures. Here, the Ultramarines and their newly resurrected Primarch stand firm in the Fortress of Hera against the invading Black Legion. Rise of the Primarch includes five Echoes of War missions that follow the events that take place in the story and three Cataclysm of War missions that introduce new ways to play, including Stratagems – assets that you can use before or during the game to give you the edge over your opponent. These rules can be combined with those found in Fall of Cadia. The Triumvirate of the PrimarchRoboute Guilliman, Primarch of the Ultramarines is reborn! For close to nine millennia, his body was held in stasis, caught in the heartbeat before death. Now, through the artifice of the Martian Tech-priest Belisarius Cawl and the alien sorcery of the Eldar Yvraine, he returns to the Imperium in its darkest hour. Clad in the Armour of Fates and wielding his father’s flaming sword, Roboute Guilliman is a demigod of war, a symbol of freedom and Humanity’s best chance of saving the Emperor’s legacy. However, his noble countenance is troubled by the terrible state of the Imperium, and he must put aside his fears if he is to save Mankind. But first Guilliman must fight the war to end all wars. It could take many mortal lifetimes. Alongside Roboute Guilliman, this plastic set also contains Grand Master Voldus of the Grey Knights – one of Guilliman’s new and most trusted advisors – and the enigmatic Cypher, who joins Guilliman on his quest to save the Imperium. Or does he…? Roboute Guilliman comes with two heads, one wearing a helmet, the other bare and wearing a laurel wreath. Thanks to the kit’s design, they are easily interchangeable should you wish to paint and use both. The Ultramarines Chapter symbol is featured on the model’s shoulder pad beneath a scroll bearing the Primarch’s name. On Guilliman’s other shoulder can be seen a crux terminatus. Guilliman’s backpack contains a life-support system and a reactor to power his suit’s many systems, including the Hand of Dominion. In his other hand he wields the flaming sword of the Emperor. The Fallen Angel Cypher is a mysterious figure, his role in the Gathering Storm an enigma. Beneath Cypher’s many layers of tattered robes can be seen a holstered bolt pistol. Being of such an ancient design, the gun has no magazine, but an ammo feed instead. Cypher’s backpack is a mismatch of designs, having been modified many times over the millennia. Cypher carries a long sword across his back that is far too big for even an Astartes’ hands. It is rumoured that the sword is the fabled Lion Sword that once belonged to the Dark Angels Primarch Lion El’Jonson. Grand Master Voldus is the commander of the Grey Knights 3rd Brotherhood. He carries a potent force hammer (and the symbol of his office) known as the Malleus Argyrum. Voldus’s shoulder pad bears the Chapter symbol of the Grey Knights – an open book with a sword behind it. Behind the symbol oaths and litanies can be seen engraved into his armour.

It is rumoured that the sword is the fabled Lion Sword that once belonged to the Dark Angels Primarch Lion El’Jonson. This, to me, strongly implies that Lion El Jonson isn't getting a model, and futhermore, that Cypher is all the DA represention that "End Times 40k" is going to see. andozane
Well....depending on how GW wants to play this....we got Magnus, now we have Robert...perhaps the next Primarch will be Chaos aligned, then a Loyalist...so perhaps Mortarion next? then we see the Lion? Then Angron....and Russ shows up? Fun times :)
WestRider
I like the new detail and quality of the kit for Cypher, but I actually prefer the pose on his old model. Voldus is solid, but not particularly exciting to me. Guilliman, with the helmet, I actually really like. Might have to pick him up, even tho I have no intention of ever playing Ultramarines. He's just that cool.
generalripphook
Cypher is great and full of character but I just don't like gulliman. It looks too age of sigmar cartoony

InfestedKerrigan
Why bring back Guil? Why not El'Jon? He's actually alive in stasis as opposed to being mortally wounded in stasis like Guil was , IIRC. Because they are doing something for Loyal Legions, not traitorous scum.
dalmer
So are all the fellas in dark armor sporting Dark Angels icons behind Cypher in that photo old school Legion I? Or more of the Fallen?
InfestedKerrigan
I just got out of the shower and air drying in front of the fire. I realized, sadly, that I was fondling my jewels while looking at Rob and his GK/FA/Smurformation.

Ser Warwick
Great to see things moving forward. A little unsure on Guilliman's model, but I might just be used to the Forgeworld scale. To a point, Primarch proportions should probably be off, as they are demigods, but it seems like he could use some more heft. That Cypher though, may have to repaint all of my DA black. The closed eye, cloak, armor style, and big sword are giving me a bit of a Guts vibe. No matter his intentions, you can tell this guy has been through the ringer.

If you haven't already seen it, know that they both redid the original anime, recently, AND they added a follow-up season and are in progress with, yet another season. pretre
OK here is what they said about the story in the live stream. Mild spoilers ahead. After the end of the first book when the imperium and Eldar, everyone heads back to Macragge for reasons. When they get there the find it under full blown assault by the black legion. Apparently the destruction of the pylons at Cabin has let chaos strike pretty much anywhere they like. Some grey Knights tip up too, including the new guy. Anyway the chaos invasion gets as far as the very chamber in which roboute is sleeping. He wakes up somehow, turns the tide on chaos and in no time at all wins the war for Macragge. After this they need to go to Terra for reasons, but warp travel is a bit tricky. They end having to go through the maelstrom for reasons. They meet Cypher who says he will help them through the maelstrom if they take him to Terra. there is apparently a lot of stuff about Rob dealing with the changes to the imperium in his absence. Celestial freaks him out a bit because she reminds him of Dad. He apparently also knows Cawl from way back.

spagunk
Guilliman Leaked Rules WS7 BS6 S6 T6 W6 I6 A4 Ld10 Sv2+ Army wide change to doctrines. Reroll to wound. Reroll to hit. All friendly Ultramarines can choose to pass or fail leadership’s. Leadership can not be modified. Makes Sternguard troops. Special Rules Eternal Warrior Fear, Fearless Extremely Bulky Feel No Pain Same regeneration as Belisarius Cawl A lot of noise in the internet is saying these stats are fake. They site that none of the special rules seem primarch worthy (FW for comparison) and they mirror pretty much Marneus Calgar except for his stats. The stats being a copy/paste from 30k incidentally. They also indicate that if you look at deamon magnus, he basically has almost all the same rules as FW so they also site this as an indicator. Third nail is that it comes from someone on facebook with no history of every giving rumors or leaks.
pretre
True. I found it on BOLS, so let that make you wary.
Guest
Silly that he'd make Sternguard Troops. He's supposed to be some tactical genius, but his tactic is just to not include the core troops that all the other marines are fielding....He should make tactical squads amazing, not make sternguard into troops.
