fluger Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 March 22nd will be the next Games Day at Haus Fluger. I'm hoping for a good turnout to this and I'm hoping the weather will comply. I can easily have 4 tables up and running, but I'll need to borrow 1 board though, and probably some terrain, though I did get some more and I'm hoping to put in enough time to make some more. (also, depending on how quickly I get my tax return and shipping and such, I might also have one of those swanky Frontline Gaming Mats. w00t!) If I can borrow boards, a table, and terrain, I can have 5 tables all under a roof. Here's the itenerary. 10:00-12:00: Arrive and converse, light refreshments (read: chips and soda) will be available. 12:00-whenever: Gaming! I'll be getting some kind of dinner going as a main course. Maybe some brisket again, or else this new pork tenderloin recipe my wife has been doing. Either way, meaty goodness for eating. Please let me know if you plan on coming as I'd like to try and cap this at about 10ish people so that we don't have to worry about people stuck sitting around watching. 1 Quote
Kingpin Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Dang I work that weekend. But I haven't taken any time off in like a year. Could be a good excuse. Quote
fluger Posted February 11, 2014 Author Report Posted February 11, 2014 So far I have Koyote signed up. Quote
PumpkinHead Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Mark me a tentative. If you get your 10 before I can confirm, no worries, go with those that can play. 2 Quote
VonVilkee Posted February 11, 2014 Report Posted February 11, 2014 Middle of nowhere near a dentist office... That is all I remember! This is very tempting as it falls in line with what I believe is a free weekend for me. I'm in barring wifely intervention. 3 Quote
fluger Posted February 11, 2014 Author Report Posted February 11, 2014 where is haus Flug anyhow? Puyallup, Washington. It truly is in the middle of nothing. (though, oddly, there's a GW store within 3 miles of my house. Go figure). Anyone coming from Vancouver would be looking at about a 2.25 hour drive. Quote
InfestedKerrigan Posted February 12, 2014 Report Posted February 12, 2014 I'm considering transferring from my Lexington, KY job to a position with the company either in Bellevue or Sumner, great to know there's good people in the area! Quote
fluger Posted February 12, 2014 Author Report Posted February 12, 2014 I work in Sumner! You should come here! 1 Quote

Guest Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 So, how far is it from a train stop? -Pax Quote
PumpkinHead Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Probably a 30 minute drive. The only train stop I know is the one in down town Tacoma. Quote
fluger Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 Naw, there's the Puyallup station. Which is closer. Quote
VonVilkee Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Naw, there's the Puyallup station. Which is closer. That sounds like a barely closer... 1 Quote
PumpkinHead Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 15 minute drive, assuming you make the lights on meridian. 1 Quote
PourSpelur Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Pax: Well I've had horrible luck with Fluger gamedays but if I'm able to go I could pick you up at the Puyallup station and take you. It's like five blocks from my house. 2 Quote
fluger Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 15 minute drive, assuming you make the lights on meridian. Meridian is a fickle beast. 1 Quote
Torg Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 If I ever make it up to one … I can take you pax… just not sure I can make it to this one. Quote
fluger Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 No problemo. I'll probably be setting up a really big one in June or July when I can use the backyard for spare tables. Quote
Lord Hanaur Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 My intention is to attend. I can provide a lot of terrain, boards, tables, whatever if I make it. In fairness my staffing issues are ever present and so I will not know as a certainty whether I can make it or not for a bit. 1 Quote
fluger Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 What kind of staff do you need? Quote
Lord Hanaur Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 I need a CSR who can be licensed immediately. Licensing is not easy and it's not for dumb people (It really isn't even for "moderately intelligent" folks). It's 80 hours of online or classroom time they have to do on their own, that the state gives the tests for, At the end of that road lies a fairly nice career though with a lot of opportunity and a whole LOT of job security. Bonus's are nice and they go up every year. Has to be someone comfortable with marketing and especially meeting with clients. Professionalism needs to be really good. Problem solving skills are HUGE and the work comes atcha fast, so they gotta be REAL organized and conscious of their time management all the time. What looked like a pile of work that was almost done turns into two new piles and fast. Just because we have no time doesn't mean I don't need it done. =) It's off the subject but since the original poster is asking I spose its cool. Quote
