pretre
Huh. I'm not sure they understand what the word "curse" means. Curses are not exclusively bad things... Werewolves, Vampires, etc are all cursed. They have downsides, but also significant upsides.

generalripphook
There might be a downside like models affected by it have to move towards an enemy unit or may have to charge of possibly or something.
pretre
There might be a downside like models affected by it have to move towards an enemy unit or may have to charge of possibly or something. Or the fact that they are horrible wolf monsters who lost the tiny bit of humanity they still had as space wolves. :)
pretre
Or the fact that their curse makes them unable to fit in their nice, protective armor. Or the fact that their curse makes them crappy shots etc, so on.
generalripphook
Well what I think Jim was getting at was that having just a single squad of these guys can boost all your other squads with the curse's benefits without them having poor armor or ballistic skills

Another good use for them in a stormwolf.
pretre
The pistol is currently not an option for any unit - there are several SW datasheets in the book thoughSome new pics - no updated Codex this time or at least not in this release week - from 40kings.de
Brother Glacius
The new models have the "Curse of GW". When the models are fugly, they get outrageous rules so people will buy them.

WestRider
I think "niederschmettern" is Strikedown. I could well be wrong on that, tho. Kinda disappointed at the CD Formations so far being for Khorne. They already did a whole Dex for Khorne, you think they'd promote this for one of the others. dalmer
Hello there, Obviously I haven't seen all the new rules and (for what it's worth) wanted to chip in my two cents regarding the "Curse of the Wulfen." I saw the hunt / kill charts and would ASSUME (which I know is dangerous) that there will also be additional wording about the "curse" and how it affects friendly units in that the affected units MUST charge forth in order to get into hand-to-hand combat. Thus, the "curse" would goof up stationary shooting, tactical movement, etc. as the Space Wolves feel the curse and devolve into Wulfen. In all the Space Wolves stuff I've read, the Curse of the Wulfen is viewed upon by chapter members as truly a fall from grace... a could-have-been-noble Space Wolf fighting for the Emperor transformed into a bloodthirsty, bestial savage. This is where the phrase "there are no wolves on Fenris" comes from, don't forget. Stay safe, don

WestRider
Really curious to see who gets the Hellfrost Pistol, and how much it costs.
AbusePuppy
I'm gonna guess 20pts. It's strictly better than a Plasma Pistol (+1Str, -1AP, Helfrost rule) and GW seems to be pretty set on the price of those, so it's hard to imagine it going any lower. WestRider
Even at 20 Points, I'd be down for it, in at least some cases. It pairs reasonably well with Melta Packs, and because it doesn't do the double-dice thing, I can more often keep my Character with it back safe. spagunk
What I wouldn't give to have some of these special rules applied to various Blood Angel things *looks at my Sanguinary guard*. Man, it's going to be tough going against this plus any TWC. Playing against TWC plus an allied Ironhands bike command squad with chaplain, apothecary w/ storm shields was impossible enough! Oh well, Looks like close combat is back for you wolves! Grats.

They aren't durable enough and if they are in a flyer, they aren't coming in until turn 2.
